maybe the internet is doomed. i sort of doubt it... feels more like a pendulum of history moment. the internet used to be this obscure thing, then it blew up, bit of a wild west, now it's worth billions and regulation has set in. youtube is policed to shit, but if you rent out a server and host things yourself no one will fuck with you. this is pretty much how it was before youtube. (being thorough: you will still be sued if you grow too large off of pirated content, which also happened before youtube) |
