I don't know what saw 3 will be like, but saw 4 should be
like a bit like marchrom30ta and abundance

Id like a really long version of abundance with different
instruments, more samples, its perfect as it is, but its
such a good theme id like to hear more variations on a theme

it's pretty good, tracks 2 and 3 are my favourites i think.
nice bass puĺses on mt1 and that outro on 1st 44 is going
to be good for the djs. apples and oranges i know but it
sounds like pop music next to the nts sessions! funny that
ae arrived with zero fanfare and aphex had a global
campaign. listening to pthex now though, i know i was
dissing that acid squelch ìn the envmod thread but it's
done really well here. thumbs up really

nice record!
loving the sound of it and the subtle composition.
its athmospheric and it kind of brought back that feeling of
music that just seems to be a step ahead, futuristic, mind
tripping or what you wanna call it.
i feel kind of silly trying to describe it like that,
but it just took me some place.
i missed that.

Hey!

I see what you mean but you have to admit it’s reall good
fun! Grown on me. True it’s not his NTS Session, it’s a
fun kick arse EP.

damn, just when i was about to lose my faith..
that ep is fucking brilliant,
condensing everything he's done before and going one step
forward
love aphex in his perfect dose of wildness and abstraction

offline RussellDust on 2018-09-14 19:57 [#02561047]
Points: 15892 Status: Regular | Followup to melack: #02561046

This “abstraction” you speak of is there, it’s aphex
and it’s great, but I think it’s agreed mostly (here
anyway) that it’s rather mainstream aphex. And nothing
wrong with that. It’s so him, it really is, so him. I
think it’s great btw, and I won’t fall for the “oh
he’s doing this kiddie genre” or whatever. It’s
wuality, it’s bit groundbreaking. Which again I don’t
think is a problem with quality like this, I was just
curious as to this abstraction you felt.

offline RussellDust on 2018-09-14 19:59 [#02561048]

It’s quality but not groundbreaking imho*

there's two bonus tracks, one is pthex which doesnt seem to
be on the vinyl then there's chroma something or other which
is an alternate version of collapse. chroma-wotsit is
download only.

there are 6 tracks altogether.

i bought the cd off ebay, will probably give it to someone
as a present

ill download the high quality version off soulseek and play
it on my phone hehe

i reckon richard put a lot of money in crypto and lost out.
who knows though? if he needs the money he might put out
more albums and stuff.

please let there be new releases, like 10 albums of
windowlicker era stuff. + new stuff from the last 4 years.

i think the most cohesive and balanced compostion of the ep
is the t9 collapse pair, i have mixed feelings about
abundance and phtex, i like them only into some parts.
abudance feels like an epic cavalcade until 3.23 then the
cheesyness kicks in. i think i preferred if he didnt make
stuff saleable, i would buy
