Ceephax Acid Crew VS Roy of the Ravers

I've been a big fan of Ceephax since I first read about him
in NME magazine back when I was 17 years old. For those who
don't know he's an acid house musician who has toured the
world with his Roland drum machines and synthesizers, making
the genre of acid house popular. His arrangements,
harmonies, melodies, rhythms are all top notch. He often
mixes polyrhythms with multiple drum machines running in
sync. Most of his tracks use the Roland TB 303 bass
synthesizer, and Ceephax has mastered the programming of
acid lines.

Ceephax has had an influence on the Analord series by Aphex
Twin, and there are countless imitators and people who have
been influenced to make acid house such as myself, Chris
Moss Acid, and Roy of the Ravers. Being influenced is one
thing, take for example Chris Moss, he uses the 303 and 606
drum machine and Commodore 64, just like Ceephax. He's been
influenced by Ceephax and copies some of his ideas but if
you listen to his music, he does fair play to him try to
make his own style of acid rather than ape Ceephax
completely. He's even done some Mr Oizo style stuff. And he
seems like a genuine guy who uses his real name.

Now take Roy of the Ravers, this chap uses the 303 and 606
and apes the style of Ceephax quite precisely. It's one
thing to pay homage to your heroes, but hear me out. This
guy has been a bit of a turkey twizzler dealer. He has a
track out there called Ceephax Acid Crew Cut. It's a silly
joke name, but that's not the point, Roy of the Ravers has
been confusing people into thinking that Ceephax is somehow
associated with his music. As if that wasn't enough, Roy of
the Ravers has even stole the track name of a Ceephax song.
Ceephax created Emotinium and Emotinium II. Roy of the
Ravers has a track called Emotinium too. The Ceephax track
came out first.

Aphex Twin recently played out Roy of the Ravers' version of
Emotinium at a DJ gig, making the youtube video get really
popular. It almost has a million views. And people have been
buying the Roy of the Ravers' albums and eps. Whether they
know it's not Ceephax is a bit hard to tell. What's easy to
tell is that Roy of the Ravers is a turkey twizzler dealer.
I won't be buying his shit or the shit on Acid Waxa records
until they apologise.

They shouldn’t be allowed to pull a review, unless you had
samples there too. If it’s just a review then it’s
really petty, and they don’t have the law on their side.

Clips are covered by fair use too, that's why you have them
in movie reviews etc.

"Roy of the Ravers has been confusing people into thinking
that Ceephax is somehow associated with his music." Is the
only thing I can see them getting an allowed takedown for as
it's an accusation which they probably claim is false and
feel hurts their brand.

Ah ok, thing is you never hear snippets with music reviews.
Or extremely rarely.

I won't upload it again because I don't want to get sued or
get legal notices or whatever :-)

Fuck 'em

YouTube does have a time limit, might be really short like
10 seconds per song.
