apparently, there was an eathquake here at 6:30 AM or
something.... 5.1 on the richter scale! I slept through
it.... but maybe this is leading to the total destruction of
Los Angeles..... seriously, they're expecting an enourmous
quake soon..... any thoughts on this?

earthquakes are nasty :\ glad you're safe

bad thing?

New York state isn't known for destructive earthquakes,
luckily :)

but sometimes they can lead to other ones around the
world....

maybe the loss of LA wouldn't be so bad...

san fransisco sounds like the worst place for earthquakes in
the US... San Andreas Fault or something!

I felt the earthquake here in montreal. It woke me and I
wondered why I was shaking. then i touched the headboard of
the bed, and it was shaking. I was still puzzled. Then I
touched the wall, and it was shaking. that was wierd.

Which song on Undertow do you mean? The title track I
thought to be about drugs...

i could be totally wrong...(i'm not a rabid tool fan), the
cd /w the whole south west coast under water on it? and the
song (i think /w the same title) i think it says learn to
swim over and over in it...

actually, i think it's called anema...not undertow...my
mistake

I heard about that quake. I didn't feel anything here
though! I think it's kind of scary that the northeast has
no surface faults but there is potential for a major
earthquake to strike the region nonetheless.
I think I read somewhere that one of the strongest
earthquakes in north America was actually recorded in
Missouri in the 19th century.

the big 1964 quake here was 9.4 on the richter. the last
earthquake i've been in here was about 4.6 i think.

In some morbid and sick way, I kind of want LA to be
destroyed by a huge quake and just drift out to sea. Maybe
float away into the ocean and become a detached colony out
there. At least it would be something interesting. It would
suck to be from LA, though... :-/

i live in toronto, and i didn't feel ANYTHING!
this is the first ive heard of this too..

..i should probably turn on the news or something
(lol, this just shows how isolated i am:)

Like in that movie? I forget the title, but an earthquake
hit SoCal and LA was seperated from the landmass, and it
became a prison colony.
I think it was called "escape from LA"

Exactly!!! And maybe all the gangs and everything could
fight for supremacy on this new island nation. It would make
watching the news interesting again, I'd forget all about
Afghanistan.

Of course millions of people would die... but hey, I didn't
say I wasn't morbid.
