Well, Marcia Lucas saved the original as editor, and was recognised with an Academy Award for it. But don't let that spoil the idea that women have until now been physically barred from having anything to do with hopelessly gender-skewered Star Wars. Oh and now Lando's a fruit? Fucking hell freqy, for someone apparently so "switched on" you quickly find yourself out of your depth and start floundering. I was responding more to the bit about this Kennedy person saying there was going to be a female director - doesn't matter who, but they would be female. My point was that females have been central to making Star Wars since Day 1, and that Marcia Lucas had a hugely significant role in making the first one a success. But the popular narrative is now that suddenly it's "time" for women to step up and get involved, when the truth is they've always been there. Just in a less hysterical, flag waving manner. I am not saying anything about you at all, if anything I'm broadly supporting your view. And you don't know that Lando now is meant to be pansexual now? |

It is not unacceptable that men are 75% of a department if they are the best talent. However, If they are getting a job just because they know someone, that isn’t right.
