How would you feel?
Christopher Hitchens said he would be pleasantly surprised.

good question.

i think maybe one of the representation of god is
interaction between human and nature, and if that was the
case i suspect that it nearly saved my life once.

i might add this can happen anywhere, and the place
supposedly most full of god can be also the most godless
place in that regard. but that has nothing to do with
animals.

I don't know how id feel, strangely I don't think there is
anything id want to ask god, I don't think id want to meet
god

answer to anything I asked it

depends on what sort of god you mean, I assumed Umbroman3
was talking about the traditional anthrophonic manifestation
of god,

you know in a hypothetical sense, if he means in a unseen
power of nature then I don't know how you could meet it in
the traditional sense

in nature

Nontrinitarianism is a form of Christianity that rejects
the mainstream Christian doctrine of the Trinity—the
teaching that God is three distinct hypostases or persons
who are coeternal, coequal, and indivisibly united in one
being, or essence (from the Greek ousia). Certain religious
groups that emerged during the Protestant Reformation have
historically been known as antitrinitarian, but are not
considered Protestant in popular discourse due to their
nontrinitarian nature.

in both cases i think, if you had no explanation of it then
it would be an act of god, and if you had the explanation of
it then just a god-like recurrence.

well yeah that's my own personal view of god if god existed,
rather than the genie as you said, some sort of force that
reveals itself. I think its pretty miraculous that I'm alive
if I think of the chance of being a sentient human rather
than an insect or not existing at all, the probability is
much closer to 0 than 1

unless their is some sort of supervisory power and its no
coincidence at all, either answer if correct is pretty
profound

cunt that created us and allow us to be this shit without
bothering to intervene.

If by "prove" you mean a watertight proof that every
rational person has to accept, then I think it's logically
impossible for God to prove him/her/itself. How could a
finite, created human being master and understand a proof
which shows that an infinite, eternal being such as God must
exist? .... I don't see a way. I think our own finitude
logically excludes the possibility that we could comprehend
an infinite God in this specific way.

.... That being said. After being an atheist and then an
agnostic for a long time, I don't doubt God's existence
anymore.

And I think the most important hint is expressed in phrases
such as "seek and you shall find / knock and the door will
be opened" etc. I think if you manage to be completely
honest with yourself and genuinely care about the truth of
the question, then God will reveal in such a way that God's
existence is beyond a doubt. ... The existentially open
question for me is whether God is purely good or whether God
has good and evil aspects. ..

And ...If God is the creator of everything in our world,
then God is also the creator of humour, and it's thus
probably the case the God has a very very good sense of
humour. So I don't think he's offended by any non-believer.

Well, I was obsessed with becoming Jewish for a while. Jews
have 613 commandments and I was really interested in it. I
wrote 613 all over my website. And I was obsessed with the
number 613. When I first started hearing voices in the
head, like a week or two into it I went to the beach with my
dad and cousin. This beach I always came to in my childhood
with my family. And on the beach the voices were terrorising
me. I looked up at the sky from the beach, it was a clear
summer day. Up in the clouds I saw the number 614 written in
the clouds. To me, this was definitely a message from God.
The meaning is 'you cannot be Jewish because of your sins
and crimes', and the further meaning is that my family will
be punished for my sins and crimes. It's such a simple and
elegant put down to me and my family, showing that God does
have a beautiful sense of humour. I think God is perfect. To
me, torture and genocide were evil things that should never
be done. But God does torture and genocide himself. Anything
God does is just.

I don't think such visions are messages from God. ... I
think mohamed made a good point above when he said "you dont
meet god, they say it manifests in the good things you do"

.... I also think of Dostoevsky, who claimed that the best
way to be convinced of the reality of God is to do
charitable acts and to treat one's fellow human beings with
respect. By doing that your basic way of experiencing the
world shifts in a fundamental way and the reality of God
becomes believable.

... But everybody needs to figure this out in their own way.
The issue is too deep to make sweepingly general statements.

Dostoevsky makes a lot of sense.

God gave us all a conscience. If you betray your own
conscience and do wrong you need to be punished.

Depends what this god you speak of is like I suppose.

I’d be pretty chuffed, come to think of it.

But you mean really right? Not as in mental problems.

i agree with that, coscience is like a guide, isnt it some
kind of right path for you? it was for me.

clearly umbro the punishment stuff you made up after seeing
the 614 are your own inventions.

I think God judged me according to the 613 commandments and
found me lacking in every way. He put a judge from the court
of sanhedrin in charge of my torture. The voice I hear is
the judge punishing me for transgressing the commandments.

Ouija board, would you mess about with one? Jewish law is
more dangerous than a Ouija board. Anti-semitism is
dangerous. God takes it all very seriously. He won't accept
the laws being trivialised.
