Geometric shapes

What's your favorite geometric shape?

I think I like them all. But circles are particularly good.

What I like about them is that the shape always "stays the
same" (if it's a perfect circle). You can flip them upside
down, but the 'new' top will look exactly like the old
'bottom', etc. (unlike a triangle, let's say). And of course
the circle always "stays the same" in the sense that every
point is absolutely equally far away from the center. No
matter what point of the circle's outline you focus on,
you're always looking at the exact same relationship between
distances, so to speak. .... And then to top it all up you
can fit other beautiful shapes - such as squares and
triangles - into the circle. It's pretty neat if you ask me.

how about the humble point, stays the same no matter how you
rotate or even zoom it, dimensionless and perfect, the
numinous veil between something and nothing

not sure if it qualifies as a "shape", but it's the basis
for all shapes, including the circle

Very good choice ... points, having no extension, truly ARE
in a weird twilight-zone between being and nonbeing.

.

Well, that's what makes points so weird. They can hardly be
res cogitans - unless you want to claim that they're
thinking things. But they also can't be res extensa since
they have no extension.

They seem to somehow be responsible for the mathematically
describable form of extended things without being part of
them. They're neither thinking human things, nor part of
extended, physical reality.

So my guess is that they are some sort of goblin or
troll-like entity.

this murdered me, I am dead:

A specialist sniffer dog called Dizzy found a piece of
red plastic on the ground which Akinnuoye's housemates later
identified as belonging to a set of knives.

I couldn't originally really relate to the tale, that of
whatsapp-based bum-honour defended to the death, but when
the bit about fucking Dizzy dropped, sniffing out a
knife-handle-shaped piece of plastic, it all came
harrowingly close to home and I had feelings.
Hopefully Stormzy will use his next awards reception
performance to call this shit out.

when does harmless teasing cross the batty crease and
require "mans" to "get stabbed up?" is a bit of brown love
so bad?

It makes sense to me. Like those Russians who got into an
argument about Immanuel Kant in the supermarket and then
shot each other. (or one guy shut the other on) .... I could
easily see me do it if I imagine myself without some useful
mental filters. .. It's a thin barrier between humor and
dead-seriousness sometimes. Or not. Who knows.
