picked up that dang ol flu bug, was zonked for 24 hours,
then was unable to sleep for a further 48 hrs due to
gurgling/wheezing.

this had the effect of making me weep hysterically over old
faith no more and pixies lyrics. not recommended

I can see how this kills old people and children, just the
exhaustion from coughing and not sleeping could do you in

will definitely get the jab next time, stupid stupid stupid

yea I'm doing c, d, zinc, magnesium, and fresh ginger tea
with lemon and honey. I think it's getting me over it faster
versus other times. having fresh oranges too.

for me though the silver bullet has been standard nasal
spray, and a bowl of steaming water with sage in it. Pop a
towel over my head and inhale the fumes (don't do it while
you're heating the water unless you want to scorch your lung
tissue with superheated steam and die horribly)

Ah that sounds like a good setting for an outbreak!

pro tips - avoid:

- guy leaking black fluid
- guy whose chart says "patient zero"
- soldiers in gas masks

find:

- medkits
- ammo
- key to Sector 5

i take echinacea as i suspect something is going on

i also wash my hands more ofter and more effectively, using
public transportation doesnt help, both for the twats that
cough upon you and because the hangers are so dirty it seems
they are covered in cream

Just wanted to put in a word for Buckleys cough syrup, I
think it's only available in Canada though.

It tastes like war crime. It tastes like motor fuel laced
with camphor and menthol. It tastes like phlegm from an
elderly robot who smoked three packs a day of Newports since
the 1950s. It has not a trace of sweetness or fruitiness,
nothing but Chemical Industry.

It creates a river of fire between your mouth and stomach
which then snakes up into your sinuses. No matter how often
you've had it, and how much you think "it won't be so bad
this time", it's somehow much, much worse. You think "surely
this was not meant for internal use?!" After the fire comes
waxy nausea, then your lips and tongue go numb and you cough
and sputter up phlegm, often in the form of a perfect
rubbery inverted cast of your trachea and bronchial tree.

And after all that, you have up to six hours of blessed
relief from your cold or flu. It's black magic.

haha, wow, and i thought potters cattarh pastilles was bad.
i dunno if they have that across the pond but it's
solidified earwax that somehow works black magic in much the
same way

further

I don’t want to appear smug, but I just don’t get the
flu. Haven’t had a proper bout of the flu for many, many
years (can’t temember).

Now I’ve said that I can expect to be hit, hard.

Were you sick at the time or did you just decide you'd have
a nip of cough syrup for shits and giggles?

well I had this deep fucking lung rattle that kept me from
sleeping for two nights in a row, I was starting to wonder
if I could trick a cop into shooting me so I could lose
consciousness. turns out buckleys and bed was just as
effective but less permanent.

felt gradually crappier on wednesday and finally up all
wednesday nite with hello flu. more interesting aspects
included rather dense closed-eye visuals that i wouldn't
normally get after a puff of a vape pen. afterimages would
stick around rather easily and if i stared at them with my
eyes closed the afterimages would generate after-afterimages
and then if i started at the after-afterimages i'd
eventually get after-after-afterimages and after about an
hour of messing with this in a sleep-deprived, flu-induced
stupor, i was upgraded to strobe

most pleasant was the organic-ness of all this. it wasn't
black, white, black, white, sort of like either side getten
eaten away in subtle iridescent rainbow shades.

yesterday, today: dying. coughing. not getting enough work
done. behind on things. still sick. urrrgh. blew the last of
my cash at cvs on cvsquil
