i think you're thinking of rachel whiteread. she can be a
bit solemn for my taste. i know what you mean about majerus,
pop slogans can be oddly backwards-looking but i like the
way he blends shiny/clean aesthetics with huge paint spills
and whatnot

Yes I think Basquiat deserves to be in this thread;
highly influential too.

i was racking my brain when i spambombed this thread. i
posted plenty, but i knew there also were plenty i forgot.
basquait was one

and if we can expand things to sculpture and installation
lets have mona hatoum, rebecca horn and sarah lucas

expanding it even further, i reference post #02498751

but that's why i'm starting to come around on the issue,
ironicly. steve mcqueen's analog robots -- i'd read about
these years ago and forgotten 'em. buried in mynd. i was
ranting about the dancing madness on irc a year ago and
someone sent me the edward ihnatowicz pdf; it was also
buried. then steve mcqueen's analog robots reminded me of
edward ihnatowisdfjdcz, and how i never actually did get
around to checking out the book "on the wires of our nerves"
out of the minuteman library network (which very well still
may be run on VAX/VMS, thank you very much).

this was the post i finally managed to dredge of !g
site:xltronic.com with query "ed pdf" which finally allowed
me to find the name of the guy i wanted to link in this
thread: the late edward ihnatowicz.

before i finally searched for "ed pdf" i was all sorts of
close-but-not-quite. "ed sensor". "ed robot". ed cetera

along the way, i found a completely unrelated thread from
2001 to bump

xltronic is such an adventure

Beryl Cook, for her succinct comedic sea side portrayal of
the life of fat cunts.

haha! i haven't thought about beryl cook in years... my nan
used to have a cook print of some birds at the bingo, she
had it up next to a bob marley "catch a fire" poster of him
wreathed in smoke having a massive bifter. and a henri
rousseau print of some lemurs. eclectic tings

Cleon Peterson's Å“uvre is fucking epic, plus it triggers
the Nazis so it gets an A+ from me. Same with Kehinde Wiley,
and he's a Artist of Color so that's even better. Can you
imagine the collective pants shitting on 4chan if they ever
announced a collab? I'm creaming my pants just thinking
about it.
