This does, indeed, suck. I read a few months ago Renegade.
Absolutely hilarious.

even if I didn't listen to the latest fall album, I always
like the fact he was still around and I always read the
reviews and enjoyed the album titles

If you want to know what its like growing up in working
class northern England, Mark E Smith is that I reckon, its
really weird to me when people from other countries have
this perception of someone like john cleese in a bowler hat
representing England, when all ive ever known are people who
have a hard grim life

"I was walking down the streets
When I tripped up on a discarded banana skin
And on my way down, I caught the side of my head
On a protruding brick chip
It was the government's fault
It was the fault of the government"

I sued to like it in the NME/Melody Maker in the old days
when they used to take "pop stars" down the pub and get them
drunk. This is a nice one with a very gobby M.E.S along with
Shane MacGowan and Nick Cave.

MES: Can we drop the cop talk? It's the same with everything
else, like lurries...

SM: Lurries? What are lurries?

MES: Lurries. Containers that deliver your fucking food to
your fucking house, alright?

SM: Lorries! Yeah right.

there's a story going round that he bumped into aphex in
london, but lost the matchbox with his number on... imagine
what that might have been like,, Like the Von Sudenfed album
x 10 ? Nah, i don't think it would have been a good idea.
