As a feminist and strong admirer of the trans community, I
fully support blokes getting quims.

It makes me feel less gay when I fuck them in the arse.

it was after watching vendetta actually. this dude tried to
act like we had just watched a real corker of a movie. he
was talking about the 'police state' and tony blair. he
talked abuot how zionists were behind the london tube
bombings. and of course he talked about the iraq war.
things like that made me wanna look into it all a lot more.

Nothing worse than a straight cismale

I recently came out as Trans-Royal. I just wish society
would recognise it and subsidise my rightful expensive
lifestyle with their taxes. I was born to have a castle and
people are just so ignorant.

Oddly enough there is a deleted scene where wolf gets
revenge on frank, trapping him in his cell, blocking the
door and masturbating until he ejaculates onto frank's
plant.

sad.

The graphic novel of v for vendetta is great but like with
every film adaptation of Alan Moore's stuff it's butchered
quite a bit. From Hell is amazing In the way it covers
secret societies and mental illness and failure, but you'd
never know that from the movie.

Yeah, casting Depp was an odd choice I thought. Haven’t
seen it, loved the book. I really hold a dear place in my
heart for Watchmen, and don’t dare watch the film either.
Saw V on telly once, but haven’t read the book.

I realise there’s little to no point in watching From
Hell, but have you seen Watchmen?

I’m not touching these prequels either. There’s a TV
series on the way to, right? How much are they going to milk
a franchise that was never meant to be one?

Watchmen is something ive been meaning to read, ive only got
into graphic novels the past 5 years or so as I had a rather
snobbish opinion about their literal value, which was
totally wrong

Watchmen movie nails the look of the book, there's some
really great sequences in it but it completely misses the
tone, makes the action more like a normal superhero movie,
completely misunderstands rorshachs character and changes
the ending so it doesn't quite work. Watch the opening
credits on YouTube and if that grabs you give it a watch.

Tweaking with the ending, and not understanding
Rorschach? That sounds awful. I read that the directors cut
has the pirate story, I wonder how they “pulled that
off”... it’s a joke really. I know some people see Moore
as being whiny, but the more I read his interviews on the
matter the more I understand his point, and feel for him. I
really should tuck into Jerusalem. I started reading it when
it came out and keep forgetting it.

yeah it kinda makes rorschach this anti-hero figure rather
than a total psychopath, glorifies him a bit. I haven't seen
the version with the black freighter bits in but i think
they might be done like a cartoon show. they completely
change the end, and the new plan they give veidt is nowhere
near as likely to succeed as the one from the comics.

Moore is a moody cunt but in his defence look at that league
of extraordinary gentlemen movie. fucking hell. also he
really creates for his medium and comments on it, plays with
it, bends it. even a perfect adaptation would lose all of
this, his work may not be unadaptable in a technical sense
but watchmen without the parallel panels of its 'fearful
symmetry' chapter, for example, is not really watchmen.

I'm about 40 pages in to jerusalem too, i keep meaning to
start it properly also. might make it my xmas read, well
part one at least.

offline RussellDust on 2017-12-20 22:47 [#02540423]

I agree, it was made for the medium, to show its
possibilities off. He’s right when he says that ultimately
it’s all down to money making.

Rorschach is a fan favourite, so I guess they didn’t know
how to handle that.

Jerusalem seems about right for this period. I love the
first forty pages, I felt like a kid.
