Yes, often Muslim people (definitely not all), but
especially woman here will cross the street or look at me
badly when I walk my dog. It’s as if it was a piece of
walking shit.

Medical literature is quite clear on he health benefits of
having a dog, so I do find this behaviour ignorant. Their
kids try and pull his tail, they see it as a squeaking toy.
Drives me mad.

I live in a town where very rich Arabs come on holiday,
especially in the summer. It’s like a secret haven for
them, because I live in a smal but very pretty place. It’s
probably great to come on holiday too, but in truth it’s a
dark place ridden with depression and a weird darkness (not
literally).

I guess it's true that to a considerable extent there's one
urban mono-culture that the big international Western
cities share. You meet people with basically the same
world-view, who tend to look the same and go to the same
sorts of cultural events etc in all of them. ... I guess
that's also why so many people didn't see Brexit and Trump
coming. It creates a false sense of being exposed to
diversity if you travel back and forth between the same huge
cities in the Western world.

yes its almost a hermetically sealed country of its own. I
think people in London for the most part identify as pan
national Europeans first and British second, where for a
large proportion of the country its the inverse
