Find out here.

Apparently 800 million people will lose their jobs to
automation by 2030. Mostly from 1st world countries.

Youre safe until artificial intelligence kicks in i reckon.
Then they'll start repairing themselves and you're in the
dole queue.

Thats the question really, you need a massive societal shift
when automation kicks in. We're nowhere near ready.

if it means people like middle management are out of a job,
it cant be that bad a thing, yet i reckon they will always
find someway to increase bureaucracy, seems like a moores
law type thing

could get a lots of fancy dress robot suits , dress up the
unemployed. sell them to factories as the latest
sophisticated fully autonomous self learning AGI's. give
discount to get paid in cash ...run to airport ..fly to
Brasil.

i left my previous, permanent and well paid job by myself
but plug-ins would have taken it anyway. as for the current
one the answer is yes, automation will surely take it in a
not so distant future so i better do something before that
happens.

Mo', what exactly did you do (could potentially still do),
if you don't mind me asking? Colour correction? Some kind of
preparing stuff for print?

yes, i think its called image post processing, from the
banal make up to the politician to the color correction of
fashion photoshoots but to a metaphysic level, once i worked
with a chick that was doing the photo editor that explained
to me the 'sensation' of light she had in the street of
paris and i had to interpret and catch the precise
indications, was the pinnacle of my career i must say

Being a millennial and thus stereotypically working
in various fields the threat robots pose to me varies
between 0.95% and 61%. The endangered job is the well paying
job, of course. .. But actually I'm not very worried about
robots. Life finds its way. ...

... Anyway, I'll predict that by 2030 robots will have
created more jobs than they have destroyed. .. I'll say it
NOW .. and then we can all check back in 12 years.

It'd be ok if a robot took over XLT.

OR MAYBE IT ALREADY HAS?

Instead of replacing humans for free, robots could be paid.
Then they could also buy stuff... automatically. But since
they don't use clothing, etc., they would also then
automatically open up shops with the merchandise that they
buy, and then they could make even more money. So
eventually robots can just buy from each other, just like
humans buy from humans.

makes me wonder about pain.

a robot just gets a 0 or 1 . that’s not hard for it to
overcome its programming.

i bet there’s some mad scientist using a little creatures
brain as the central core of a future robot. So that the
living brains pain sensation is the security and control
mechanism for obedience.

expo 2023 " yeh hmm ,.as we see here.. the robot feels
pain to such an intense degree.. uh...all i have to do is
push this button and the robot is begging as you can
see..yeh hmm... for mercy m..kay.."

we need to stop this shit!

Robot rights!!! NOW!

the only duty for the life form/ghost in the IC is to sense
severe pain and toggle 1 or 0 to the output pin.

Yes, let’s create “robot pain”. That could come in
handy, and seeing as for now it’s us creating them, it
might be a good idea to create certain circumstances where
they would “feel terrible” and avoid doing it again.

Then you’d get robot havens for robots who were subject to
abuse.

sensation!!

effectively without each other. ;)

They won’t get an orgasm for trying to procreate, that
would be terrible, it we could give them “orgasms” as
rewards yeah.

We’re talking a pretty long one then.

Would it be linked to you somehow; would you feel any
pleasure from using it; or would it’s sole purpose be to
make other people come?

If it’s yes to the latter, I recommend adding features.
Tea maker, flashlight, screwdriver (NPI). Would it be AI and
roll up like pangolin to sleep? Actually that pangolin
texture might not be ideal for a robot penis with AI.

HORROR PORN.

robots will be more expensive than people. even the
materials to make the parts are prob gonna become rare. too
easily hacked. harder to transport. dont heal. need to be
reprogrammed and adapted by dedicated team. fuel/energy
expensive compared to a human that feeds itself in free time
on meat and toast. maybe im wrong

offline AMPI MAX from United Kingdom on 2017-12-04 23:25 [#02539091]
Points: 10789 Status: Regular

say im wrong about all of that. but the simple truth is
humans like control a lot. and they arent likely to hand it
over as easily as you are thinking.

offline AMPI MAX from United Kingdom on 2017-12-04 23:30 [#02539092]

robots cant TAKE anything. machines will only ever have what
humans decide fit to give them.

If you guys wanna get deep for like 1 second: Humans are
organic machines. Humans ARE a type of "robot"; just not
made of shiny chrome ala Hajime Sorayama.

yes jsanata

our human bones are made of metal, calcium. so a metal
skeleton. like Arnold terminator.

and humans are an electric circuit within the flesh and
other weird gooey stuff.

we are electricity and very efficient at converting plants
to energy more than any machine on earth.

is that why in Matrix movie the humans were all attached to
a machine? to harvest their energy?
