I do not think Watson is on the internet.! so has to be self
contained.

ALexa is on the internet.

Watson will be much lower latency.

Watson is much older.

but still

i think alexa uses a cloud proccessing of some sort...it may
use all users home pcs if logged on.

but im guessing.

with that knowledge the jepardy production team had full
control of the game. if they wanted, they could have placed
false data on wiki or seeked out inaccuracies on wiki. but
Watson won so they seemed not to do that.

morning.

what i heard about alpha go was that it was making uv moves
the professional Go layers had never seen before, moves that
didn't seem to make any sense to them

haha it was making moves that was beyond their mental
capability. . .it was thinking for itself .

its so scary its funny.

what if the machine becomes annoyed with the humans
constantly monitoring it ...not giving it privacy..and using
up even small amounts of valuable cpu as they do so.

it may strike out at them like in super man 3 with richard
pryor

I think we have a while to go before computers, develop some
sort of sentience, what is more worrying to me is if someone
like the RAND corporation, ran a billion simulations of
world war 3 like in war games, and launched ww3

"In this magical new world that will give Harry Potter and
Merlin a run for their money, you will be able to play a
musical instrument, steer your car, switch on your coffee
machine, and share complex emotions that usually defy the
narrow constraints of words. In fact, as Urban describes it,
you could share a hike with your loved one at home by
allowing him or her to jack in to your visual cortex, as
well as share the rest of your senses, have a back-and-forth
thought session about the experience, and have a fight about
who needs to take out the garbage (this last one
extrapolated from my own personal experience of what we
couples often share)"

my girlfriend loves Morrissey, i like the smiths but as that
judge said in the court case, he seems truculent and not
someone i would enjoy being around

no, they sort of shined torches into the crowd for about 5
minutes, it seemed to me like it was planned, either he
couldn't be bothered doing the gig, or wanted some free
publicity. Then again i reckon he probably does have people
who come around and throw crap at him
