“Art materials enable children to externalise troubling
or confusing emotions, giving them form and enabling them to
make links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours,
perhaps for the first time.”

yes but they are not internet links

being able to externalize your feelings, bring them under a
rational label... isn't that the same as taking a whole mess
of text and referencing it with a hyperlink?

you still have to deal with the mess underneath, but you can
do it in a compartmentalized way. the hyperlink/metaphor
lets you reference previously computed solutions without
having to work through them again

I think Italy will probably win another world cu in the next
20 years, at least they have a decent chance unlike England,
its going to be the same ineptitude we see every tournament

What? I missed that; I was aware it was going to be tough
and nearly made a thread asking you if you were worried as
the international press was saying that Italians were very
tense.

I asked because today I started a three month art course,
sort of presented like art therapy. This seems to be really
focused on teaching you all the basics in art. I like to
draw and regard myself as being artistic, but I lack any
real basics so this is for me.

I went on an art therapy course once that was just like
being in kindergarten. This one seems quite serious; today I
just focused on doing lines, working on the various ways of
creating different sorts of dynamics within a line, or
lines. It was cool. There’s six of us, I’m the only
bloke of course.

Ah yes, thanks for mentioning that! I forgot to reply, but
that was not a Bon Jovi chorus but a Tibbar quote. It was
something along the lines of xltronic being mean, that he
was extremely hurt etc... and he ended with
AAAAAAAALLLLLLLLWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYSSSSSSS.

Probably something about the meanies always being meanies.

Not in a mean way, i didn’t participate, but I would like
to read that thread again. A lot of old timers here do the
“always” thing.

I’ve found out that there’s allsorts of art therapy
methods nowadays. It’s a hideout for incompetent artists
because they get funding from the government to help 5ose
going through difficult times.

I think if they made you feel “rubbish at art” they
totally failed their purpose, and are probably not people
worth your time. Fuck them, Hemonoid.

There were some semi talented people in my group, who
besides being amateurs, created some halfway decent stuff.
Not art, but it showed some kind of craftmansship and basic
aesthetic understanding.

A very nice thing about being a human being is that you can
do anything you want as long as you don't expect
applause for it.

Weird, I can’t do anything I want in this
“reality”. I can in my mind, sure; and I know that soon
I’ll be a part of it all in a differently connected way.

Okay. I was a bit imprecise. You can do anything you want
which is logically and physically possible in this world if
you don't expect applause for it. ... But that's still a
very very huge mass of things you can do. An ocean of
possibilities
as it were
