No one has mentioned the new release for Touched.

It seems Autechre get little love here nowadays. Have you
fallen out of love with Ae? Is Aphex your king?

Too much money to be made *treating* cancer for anyone to
want to actually cure it.

are you kidding? aren't there scads of people who would give
their left nut to be the man who cured cancer?

The issue with cancer is that its an umbrella term I guess
so many different cancers have subtly different mechanisms,
its like finding a key to unlock every lock in your home

I really would not like to be coming up right now. If we
just arrived and we were doing music at 19 again, honestly,
no one would notice what we were doing. I’m pretty sure of
that. Not because it’s musically more different, but
purely because of the numbers involved. It’s really hard
to get people’s attention for more than five minutes.
It’s getting to the point where it’s almost pointless to
put releases out. You work on something for two years and
then it will get tweeted for a few days. It can be pretty
fucking soul-destroying.

With Autechre, we’re in a strong position. I’m not
saying any of this by way of complaining, but I wouldn’t
want to be a strong artist trying to make a name at the
moment. I would know where to start, but I don’t know if I
would achieve a level of fame.

oh, yes, this sounds familiar

i talked about this with a couple of friends last saturday,
they said we have already the technology but there would be
too little to profit, and that the pharmaceutical companies
are the manifestation of evil. then the argument continued
citing the example of tesla, and ultimately, that killing
the oil market would destroy the world's economic.

I wrote a long post but internet ate it. I hate internet.

I like both tracks. I should copy the whole post before
posting it next time. sigh

internet.

this drives me nuts. i can spend so much time writing things
that boards will log me out.... sometimes i have the
presence of mind to ctrl+a, ctrl+c before hitting posts....
sometimes the internet glitches out... sometimes the
computer crashes...

generally, i refuse to let this shit win. i will sit there
and do my best to recreate whatever-it-was. this actually
gets pretty deep when i'm writing music -- if i lose the
whole track i'll be able to get 2/3 of it back, but then the
details are different, and it's like the same track in a
parallel universe or something

two years for a release and crying that does not get
retweeted, fucking ridicolous
