Just watched it, my thoughts: pretty solid first hour and a
bit then messy & predictable and nonsensical, plus a fucking
awful ending.

Haven't seen it. Oh, Edgar Wright. I wonder if he has full
creative control over in the states.

For much of it, it felt like a mid-90s Tarantino was
providing the template.

I thought it was a lot of fun and technically very
impressive, must've taken forever to choreograph certain
bits to the music. It did lack the emotion of other wright
movies though which always feels very honest and earned and
you're right that it was predictable. Maybe that's because
of the breezy hollywood heroism baby was an emulation of
though? I'll give it another watch.

Yeah the first half was fun and beautifully choreographed
— driving scenes were nice, basically rally driving in an
urban setting but satisfying. It was with the introduction
of the Jamie Foxx character and then his second stint that
it fell apart for me — his character made no sense, spoke
utter shit, made ridiculous decisions, which directly took
the film to its nonsense final heist and its deeply terrible
follow-up.

Also the waitress seemed incredibly quick to be 100% wooed
by the protagonist, bit outdated in this day and age.

Yeah foxx is the weak link for me too. It's like he's from a
completely different movie
