Be a bit of a shame if the Aliens haven't evolved ears
really

it might be a bit like the voynich manuscript to them, then
one may work out that 'sounds' are different to 'images'.
Like, if a hypothetical race of aliens had completely
different senses, theoretically they could still extract
meaning from things of ours, and vice versa. I think that's
p mindblowing.

though there'd be no context of course, which might be
slightly important

yeah id assume they would have some sort of photon detecting
organs as electromagnetic radiation is so ubiquitous in
every part of the universe, perhaps they might have extra
sensitive touch so they could feel the discs information
directly

yes its fun to think about, since the universe is postulated
to be of infinite dimensions due to inflation (well at least
in some theories) then due to probability there is something
that has evolved with similar capabilities as you are
describing. Having said that some sort unknown law of
physics makes everything evolve in a similar way to us

Yeah, we're clever, the universe is enormous, we'll send out
a tiny probe with a fucking gold disc on it. And then
congratulate ourselves when we translate it back to
ourselves.

Fucking people.

yes I mean the universe is that big the needle in a haystack
analogy is wholly inadequate in describing the chances of
that disc ever being found, its like writing your phone
number with atoms on the back of a pin head and throwing it
in the ocean and expecting someone to find it, even that's a
vast understatement.

Then again ive seen Star Trek 1 perhaps the universe is
teeming with self replication von Neumann probes

SPACECRAFT CRASHING INTO SATURN: Almost 20 years after it
left Earth, NASA's Cassini spacecraft is about to end its
mission to Saturn by plunging into the atmosphere of the
ringed planet. A new video from NASA recaps the spacecraft's
discoveries and previews the incredible photos Cassini might
take--just before it turns into a fireball. Impact date:
Sept.15th. Stay tuned!

Surly that message is long behind all the countless tv
radiowave broadcasts of some of the most degenerate West
destroying junk?
