strange dream

sometimes i'll take a benadryl to sleep. circa last night
at five am, i got up and took one because i needed sleep
because i needed to drive. i nodded right off, and it's a
very strange ride involving my brain going, "we've dreamed
about this many times before, it's important." then i woke
up and none of it made any sense. i was hoping someone could
explain things to me -- preferrably with words

I get that a lot. Especially during that moment
between being awake and dreaming.

I often work out things that I'm telling myself
are very important, and clever. But within minutes
it starts to make no sense.

Once I was in a fast food place abs there were
seven figures who I had worked out were
the seven truths. To understand them you had to think
often backwards in terms of process. It got really
interesting, i was working out stuff that I felt
was really important, but once I was awake I couldn't
even write the dream down.

I had a interesting dream, that i was cycling on my mountain
bike down very dark wooded paths, it wasnt spooky or
anything just very dark around totally black and i got off
my bike and i lost it, so i spent the rest of my dream
looking for it, i haven't had a bike for about 15 years

I had a really good dream the other night about being on an
island where the people lived alongside dinosaurs, although
the dinosaurs looked kind of ornate, like peacocks, and
they's move really slow then suddenly really fast. It was
ace!

I had lucid dreams last night after a few months without
any. Was great, tried to make fire with silex rocks !

i used to chat with a very clever medicated schizophrenic
bloke in a bar years ago, he went to cambridge in the 60s n
stuff (acid casualty), and new about 100 times more about
psychology (he liked a bit of Jung) than the people who he
had to see on a weekly basis. Always completely lucid,
courteous gentlemen, except when he would sort-of talk and
it was like it was coming from about a foot above his
head..
.
Anyway, he used to say some things about dreams that to
this day make me think there is something very very
important there, and they're aren't just one part of your
brain trying to make sense of the general noise going on in
other bits.

I had one about Lee scratch perry last night
Do you keep a dream diary?

i did it for ages but without the intention of helping going
lucid, maybe that's why it didn't work for that.. To write
down stuff I read whilst dreaming too, tiny bits of big info
bursts.

I had quite a few lucid dreaming there are inducing
techniques to achieve them, like looking at your hand during
day time and saying to yourself thats reality. If you do it
enough then probably inside the dream you will look at your
hand and it will be messed up, like last night I had one big
finger an three little ones. So then you know you are
dreaming and can take control of it. I remember last night I
asked people what is the purpose of life, but I only had
laughs in return. :(

i only ever had one lucid dream, it was overwhelming in its
depiction of reality, i just remember walking up a gravel
drive way and hearing the sound of the gravel under my feet

yeah if you luci dream you know it just by how fascinatingly
true the feelings are. You can also make it last longer by
rubbing your hands together and stuff. It's very
fascinating.

I'm still slightly worried about a dream I had years ago. I
was in the attic and gave birth to a calf through my ass.
Then the calf was lying there on the wooden floor, all weird
and slimy as those new-borns tend to look.

Does music feature a lot in everyone's dreams here?

I have a lot of dreams which just consist - more of less -
of music. It's either songs as they actually are; songs with
some differences (in a dream I heard Frank Zappa's Broken
Hearts Are For Assholes in a version without electric
guitars) or completely new, to me unknown music. Usually I'm
aware that I'm dreaming and then surprised about how my
brain can create this surprisingly good sounding music. The
music sounds much better than what I can come up while I'm
awake. Probably it just sounds so good because I'm dreaming
and caught up in illusions.... How is it for all of you?

yes not currently but yes some of the bests tunes ive heard
come to me in my dreams, but i have no way for anyone else
to hear them, well not the musical knowledge to reproduce
them which is really frustrating, i wonder how much that is
good creatively is lost to people because of bone idleness
or other stuff

I have had a couple of homosexual dreams, and I've
always felt like "this isn't right". I mean, I love
jazzing all over a bird's chest, but a bro's? That would be
like,.... not sex but jazzing over some bloke's chest. So I
know I am not gay.

Even slightly.

Can you say the same>

when ive seen some sort of transgender and not realised its

Once when I was at school, an all boy's school mark you, a
jap guy put his hands in my pockets as part of some

groin. But then he did look quite girlish and I was maybe

I don't want a blowie off of a bloke, no matter how much he
dresses up as a girl, what's so fucking hard to understand?
Women aren't men. Chicks with Dicks = Men with Tits. You can
smell a woman. A man smells like ass. Man's ass.

yes i feel like you would notice the subtle difference very
quickly, like movement, smell, that would be most
unarrousing to me personally, I could never get over the
psychological hurdle of her being still essentially bloke

the version i heard of this involved looking at your watch.
in reality, the watch has the time, but in a dream, the time
might be 99:99 or something... and, since that doesn't make
sense, why, yes, you must be dreaming. this seems a little
more specific than looking at your hand, but i don't wear a
watch.

i think just about anything like this would work, so long as
you spend enough time doing it in reality that it begins to
appear in your dreams.

my dream recall is terrible. i probably should keep a diary

"I remember last night I asked people what is the purpose
of life, but I only had laughs in return. :( "

just have a laugh; there's the purpose

the level of effort you put into denying your gayness simply
makes you seem all the more gay

so here we go ~~

i get back to an apartment i'm splitting with my friend
lewis, which vaguely reminds me of a house i used to rent.
there's a black guy in the bathroom with a shotgun that
lewis had warned me about earlier -- black guy believes the
end of the world is coming (or something apocalyptic) and
doesn't really want anything except to get out of there. i
guess i've startled him as he broke in. he surprises me with
the gun in the bathroom, says something i don't remember,
and leave.

then i'm talking with lewis (who is paranoid schizophrenic!)
and waffling whether or not i should tell him about black
shotgun guy. i do, and he kind of winces and says, "Don't
Tell Me That!"

the reason is obvious to me, even in the dream: lewis had a
dream about guys breaking into his house the other day, and
we were arguing about what it meant. whether it had anything
to do with the voices he heard. clearly, this is one of
those guys, and perhaps i shouldn't tell him so as not to
stoke his paranoia. my dream then has a brief aside about
how you can still hear when you're asleep and dreams are
partly so you can hear people while you're sleeping.

then some wandering in a city; i'm trying to get back to my
car. but it's raining. things are flooded and i start
swimming. i dive into a pool that's walled off at the end by
a glass jewelry display in a mall. i can see into the mall,
through this, underwater... but, hmm. i debate climbing on
it, but i can't walk on glass, right? it'll break. my mom
and my sister are there handwringing, telling me to just
wait, but i'm impatient.

i clamber out of that scenerio and then i'm lost in the back
service corridors of some rich person country club. all the
walls are painted sky-blue. i'm not supposed to be there and
i'm a bit nervous about it. i still want to get back to my
car. i get to a door and tailgate someone through, but, no,
this is wrong. i go back out. i flip the lock on the door
and move along. some people walk by and start talking about
the lock -- it's a door to a pool, and it wasn't a lock, it
was like a porty-potty status toggle that switched it from
"boys" to "girls" and why is it like that because the men
are swimming now?

then i'm standing in the (sky-blue) hallway, arguing with
myself about what to do next. do i go back? do i try that
last door again? i'm standing still, and i get a
notion: "keep walking."

i do. i find a fire door that's alarmed (the doors that have
their own little buzzer) and stress on that for a moment
before barrelling through. i expect a tinny buzzer alarm,
but, no, it's fine. hooray! i am outside!

the cast of law and order: SVU are having breakfast at some
outdoor restaurant patio. Ice-T breaks out a blunt, but he
says he's still practicing (at rolling blunts) so it's
"original recipe." then the blunt becomes a bowl of cereal
and he's spoon-feeding me morsels from out of a bowl of
tobacco-kinda looking stuff.

at this point, my alarm goes off. my usual morning routine
is to put on coffee, cut up a banana into a bowl of
cheerios, then go out back to smoke a zigguraut. Ice Tea is
close to Coff-Ee and blunt, something that looks like
tobacoo, being spoon-fed morsels from a bowl of cereal...
yes, i think either my brain knew that alarm was coming.
maybe that's what the door was about too

notes of note:

- dreaming about a dream my friend told me he had and
dreaming some conclusions
- dreaming about the functional role of dreams (still hear
sounds when you sleep)
- a gender lock switch, probably thanks to SignedUpToLOL
being NOT. GAY.
- notions occuring in a dream because i do them quite often
while awake (and, thus, potentially, my personal window to
lucid dreaming)
- a door alarm not going off because my alarm was due to go
off in a few minutes
- my morning routine transmuted into a weird thing with
rapper Ice-T when it was just about time to get up and start
my morning routine

after i smoked my zig i went back in and made a bullet-point
list of all this, i should note. i knew if i sat down to try
and write it up directly, i'd get so sucked into writing it
that i'd forget half of it before i'd written a third of it.
i know this from trying to write up complicated stuff on
xltronic before and forgetting half of it before i've
written a third of it
