I agree with you completely Archrival, jus pointing out that fact there is more too it than racism, though big-heads america is quite racist. I don't remember the statistics, but it's sad how much less opportunity minority races and women both have.
The American Flag to me is like the swaztika(sp?), maybe not as serious though. The Swaztika was a symbol of peace (this is basic understanding here, maybe more to it) found in Buudhism and other places as well I think. The nazi party used it along side their fucked up movement and now it's stained. Be sure to recognize it as it's original meaning when you see it in the context of Buddhism and Buddhist art.
Similarly the U.S. flag has come to some of us to represent a selfish, arrogant, ignorant, childish government. We the U.S are the young and irresponsible nation that stumbled upon a huge world power and we're too blind to realize the consequences of our using this power selfishly. In rare moments, I do see in the American flag some hope of a possible future when we are forced to open our eyes. That's a very rare occasion. I usually cringe when I see the flag big and flappy in the sky. I'm pround to be here on Earth, not proud to be an American.
