nothing has to be strikingly original to be good, most of
you have crappy ass reasons for saying its not that
good...... BOC has always sounded like BOC..... what did you
expect them to do.. a record sounding like Aphex Twin?
Geezuz. Geogaddi rules.

wow lets attack other peoples' opinions why don't we. i
didn't find myself listening to geogaddi that much either.
of course BoC is going to grow and sound different as with
any group, but this album just didn't stick with me either.

recent memory(Plaid-Double FIgure honorable mention)

This quote should help you

"Play it twice and then listen"

is there a slight resemblence with twoism or is it just me?
i hardly know boc besides that one and geogaddi

had to look up resemblance in the dictionary first, forgot
the fucking word..

what i can say is that MHTRTC and Geodaddi are quite
similar, i play them quite often + i like both, but on
MHTRCT aquarius really catches me....

.... 21 ... 22 ... 23 ... i love it

offline Netlon Sentinel from eDe (Netherlands, The) on 2002-04-18 22:51 [#00183089]

lol!! and i spelled it wrong too!!

you see i don't have mhtrtc... a lot of ppl seem to like it
better. i imagine it's more ambient?

i think twoism is kind of a ways off from geogaddi. i think
that geogaddi started (i don't know if thats the right way
of saying it) with tracks like everything you do is a
balloon, in a beautiful place out in the country, rue the
whirl, olson. but there are a couple tracks off of twoism i
can understand the connection you're talking about. like
directine and twoism (the song), right? i still don't know
what the HELL is up with iced cooly. i think thats their one
song thats COMPLETELY different from everything else. that
and xyz...

offline Cheffe1979 from fuck (Austria) on 2002-04-18 22:58 [#00183100]

did you?man i'm so drunk. my girlfriend wants me to go to
bed now, i think i'll go.
we got bock beer here, 7.6%, it kills me.

i'd rather not say that mhtrtc is ambient. i can't classify
it now, maybe tomorrow. good night

that effect in the song twoism is used throughout geogaddi

I must agree with REFLEX on this one... some of your reasons
for disliking this album are pretty lame... it's not
original? Come on... so every cd you like is blow your mind
original? If you just don't like the sound, or the songs,
that's cool... but to not like something because it's not
original? That's putting an awful lot of pressure on artists
isn't it? Personally, I like music if it's good... if it
does something for me personally, then I like it... but it
doesn't have to blow my mind with all this new crazy stuff
for me to like it... I love Geogaddi just because I think
the music is gorgeous...

hmm, I guess it is wrong of me to call your reasons for not
liking something stupid... sorry then... if you don't like
it Geogaddi, that's cool... I love it personally though...
:)

geogaddi has some really rad tracks. music is math and you
could feel the sky were my two favs, personally. BTW, what
ep is everything you do is a balloon from?

I have that sample of "yellow" from the album in my head.
What track is it from? I can't think of the music
surounding it but it's stuck in my head.

it's more... funky.

on geogaddi they excedded the mellowness limits established
by the federal goverment

its a boring record-there far more interesting stuff out
there. another let down by warp. sorry archrival.

Yeah, Geogaddi is kind of a disapointment... I gave it more
than enough time to grow on me, and it's failed to do so. I
listen to Music Has the Right to Children a hell of a lot
more.

offline KEN from BIRMINGHAM (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-19 09:18 [#00183939]
Points: 1844 Status: Regular

yeah, i gave it a good go, and was initilally quite excited
by it, but after a few listens that anticipation just wore
off. and i found that there really wasnt anything there of
much interest waiting for me-i dunno, if they had toned it
downa bit a made a shorter album it would have worked
better. theres nothing on there that compares with the dizzy
heights of the 'in a beautiful place ep'. gutted, its a let
down.

offline phunqie on 2002-04-19 10:52 [#00184012]
Points: 766 Status: Regular

yeah,
more minimal (well, parts of it)
just more "early" stuff.
and twoism is even more "early".
this thing is recognisable by most of the bands.
i think i like more that simple "early" stuff.
geogaddi doesn't catch me a lot.
btw, this "1969 in the sunshine" thing on 1969 is so
hypnotic. i only listen to that track because of this part.
and sunshine recorder is good.

offline KEN from BIRMINGHAM (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-19 10:55 [#00184015]

yeah, to be fair that is a good tune-the only thing
comparable to the 'beutiful country' ep...
