Could you sound anymore unlike who you probably are?

(Which I presume is not Richard James)

Any more... whatever.

Only played the first track for about a minute. So I do
understand it's my loss if the other tracks are actually of
any worth to me.

I just feel a bit depressed now. Thinking about Combo for a
second was fun though. I'm now thinking of Tibbar.

foomi

offline umbroman3 from United Kingdom on 2016-10-13 17:28 [#02505595]
Points: 6123 Status: Lurker

foomi was a word i made up when i was about 7 years old
i wrote it on an old vhs tape cardboard case and kept
thinking about it for years later
usually you write the name of whatever you recorded
police academy 3 or terminator 2 or whatever
but i wrote foomi on this particular case
anyway it's a cool new word for a hip hop world
mohamed remembers me trolling this site with an account
called foomi or something
hehe peace

i wonder if anyone could actually dare to listen to all 26
tracks on the soundcloud

i remember being six or seven and staring intently at the
letters on the VCR: SLP. LP. i liked super mario brothers,
so that S was obviously for "Super," but the rest... ? Super
Long Brothers? no, that's B. Super Long Players?

this incident gets a lot of mileage: like, see, i was
messing with acronyms when i was seven, and things just sort
of continued that way. i didn't get into making up words
until later, though.

i remember umbromaniii from when i used teh soundcloud. very
dissociated, iirc

I listened to "Legend of Bullshit: The Temple of Crime"
because I liked the title. The track did little for me. I am
sorry. I then listened to "Gel 2" because I thought
"Well, if interesting titles are poor tracks, maybe poor
titles are interesting tracks
". But the track, whilst
sounding like my cup of tea, only lasted 0:35. "Krelm 5"
afterwards was emphatically not my cup of tea. I then
listened to "Lick it" and I liked that. I then went back up
to "Combo" - I like the big pause, I think music should have
more big pauses. I kind of wish that "wahahahwwahahah" layer
would go away at some point, it's like being stuck under
your dad's sofa with the valance tickling you.

im sorting out my bedroom now to make space for my music
gear
hope i can make some christmas tracks for you guys

this is the equipment im gonna use:
teisco 60f
roland mpu 101
fenix ii modular
atari st
pc for recording
roland tr 808
roland se 50
casio rz 1

gotta put some programming detail into it

might do some 1 bar loop stuff to get started
got 6 analogue voices + the 808 so thats decent for doing
loops and mixing
then ill do some 4 bar and 8 bar stuff thats basic but still
a bit more developed

then when i get my qy 300 back from china i can program some
more detailed tracks with more complicated arrangements

sadly my 303 is broken, cpu is fucked on it

it's the sound of oscillator sync, not all synths can do it
it's two vcos being sequenced independently of each other
with sync patched in

done on a fenix modular (now sold to some dutch guy last
year hehe)

so its two voices with different sequences and.. what do you
mean by sync patched to it? you mean they go in sync despite
the different sequences?

offline umbroman3 from United Kingdom on 2016-12-02 22:09 [#02508442]
Points: 6123 Status: Lurker

there's hard sync and soft sync, cant remember which one i
used
there's not much difference
it's a feature that some vcos have
if youre using a vst you can see if there's a sync button on
the vco

offline mohamed from the turtle business on 2016-12-02 22:54 [#02508443]

yes i confirm there are sync buttons
