orange shirt situation ~ member of sets ~~ (), (people are frustrating robots and you are no exception), (fear that being weird will once again put you into the thresher) i realized today was september 11th. does this iteration of groundhog doom come with a moment of silence, or did we drop that at the tenth anniversary? i make a note to look up the relevant times, so i can avoid botching this like the nice situation, in which i did not respect the moment of silence for the people that died in the french thing, because i hadn't actually heard about it yet. i forget to look them up, and stress on it. i'm seeing orange shirts as i'm stressing. -inducing couple are both very, so very orange. then a man on the trail. a guy on a bike. at this point, i am close to a panic attack: am i supposed to have an orange shirt? by walking around without one, am i risking an incident at any moment? did the park circulate a memo about it and not copy me? shit i should have looked things up shit i still have no idea what the shirts were about, or if there was a moment of silence, because it's all silent to me. like the time i went to the store and couldn't figure out why it was closed. it was only when i went home and checked the internet that i figured it out: oh, today is easter. this meant it had to be sunday, but if not for that i couldn't have told you which day of the week it was either |
