umbroman... i literally just looked up a "hearing voices" query on google because I have become aware that a lot of my thoughts, though they occur in my own voice, are from "somewhere else" -- in fact, they seem to be programmed in by external sounds previously-- birds, vehicles, city scape sounds... these provide sounds that can be associated and squished down into your temporal lobe using human love / hate as a switchboard, as part of the composite information that may become one's thoughts later. it is horrible and I don't enjoy it much-- I enjoy it SOME. considering i spend most of my time wandering around in utter squalor, and experimenting with a drug that makes me almost completely dissonant to my peers, just to figure out what the fuck is going on... i did prefer before when I didn't know this stuff. However, it is part of bonding with the rest of the human race.. love or hate. Those of us who spend time making our own sounds are somewhat immune, for a while, to this experience. Give up the music making, and do a bunch of meth and observe the crowds, and you too can have your temporal lobe corrupted and turned out for the purposes of everyuthing from commercial exploitation to the sexual fantasies of old men. there are of course, lighter sides. different for everyone. my lighter side is too heaver for most people, so whatever. glad to see this thread though. those of us who communicate with words with our eyes, and songs with our ears, will always have a special place in whatever this hierarchy is. long live xltronic and my friends. |
