ICM

intelligent classical music

this was going to be on drukqs with aphex and his electronic
gear, but something very important needed to happen, so it's
creation was shifted to the 70's instead with John Williams/
London symphony orchestra.

kmfdm came up the other day, guy i was chatting with was
all, "how serious are they?" and i realized i sort of knew
the answer. listen to the ~intro~ track off wwiii and you'll
hear right away: not very. then it hit me kmfdm is sort of
like ICP. started off immature and honest, graduated into
sarcastically mocking their fans, now both acts are deep
into their fans' heads and having fun playing around. gets
very deep and philosophical; understanding their fans better
than fans understand themselves. i don't know ICP lyrics
well enough to gauge if they do this, but i actually hear a
certain level of leading by example in kmfdm: like, people
take this shit seriously, let's try and teach them how to
think a little bit and turn them into slightly more
tolerable idiots. black lives matter movement could learn
from this... like obama said: outrage and protest doesn't
accomplish jack squat; you need a plan. and in kmfdm i hear
a bit of serious effort to teach people to think, just a
little, admidst all the sarcasm.

I was gonna say the finale of the battle of Yavin is
perfect, as Han flies in , Vader swirls away, Luke realises
he had done it...and Ben then talks to him ( that bit is
super amazing)...absolutely perfect sequence Goose bumps
each time.
