I tried to play it, but it still crashes a lot. I say give
it chance, because it is from the makers of Ingress which is
also a very good location based game

Transport yourself back to when you were 13 or so, and
imagine Pokemon Go as it exists. Fucking bad joke.

If it were in a sci-fi novel from decades ago it would have
connotations, it would be a big commentary on the society it
came from. I think it's alright though, might lead to
better things.

maybe its just me but being a over 30s heterosexual male i
can see the appeal in arcade games like Rtype and Ridge
racer but the appeal of pokemon, im quite clearly a
dinosaur

by the way if you play Pokemon go im not insinuating you are
a homosexual

It's nice that Nintendo will continue to exist a while
longer.

Some pokemons are pretty cool. Also, they've been around for
bloody yonks. More than a fad.

^ yeah i must admit i did lay the first Pokemon games when
they first came out, also one of my best mates is a fanatic
when it comes to pokemon, so i cant be overly critical, i
suppose to my mind i just wonder why they are so popular
when there are so much better games out there imho.

Then again i understand the buzz of collecting stuff as well

Those game boy advance, and early DS games are pretty
decent. Our own horsefactory got me into the DS ones, pretty
fun.

Problem I have is if I put an RPG down for more than a month
I never carry on because I forget loads of stuff.

yes, it's one of those things where the internet news was
flipping a shit over it; i'd never heard of it before and
elected to keep it that way as much as i can. i have no idea
what it does, but i'm pretty sure that information would
just valuable space in my brain

i don't see waht the big deal is. Millions of people play
games everyday, they hardly leave the house. This thing
catches on, millions of people are actually leaving their
houses to play this thing, grouping up, playing, battling.
Even if it is a freemium pos game, I think that's kind of
cool and a positive thing. I also can't help but smile cos
Nintendo somehow always seem to break the market wide open.

that being said, I haven't witnessed this phenomena first
hand, nor have I played the game.

p.s RD, afaik, Nintendo have a buttload of cash in the bank,
they can continue to release failures for years to come and
still be ok. They probably won't do that however, they come
out with a massive hit every few years or so
