i bet he keeps a mental almanac of gear used on everything.
bless him, the über geek.

i hope a brain dance museum gets opened in the future, and
we have all the artifacts of the era, would be brilliant to
see all the master tapes and gear and you could go round
with one of those phones that tells you what stuff is

I think neurotic focus on which gear was used makes the
focus on the gear (nice tautology I got goin so far), and
it's apparent limitations, not the music. I'm too poor to
know what any of this gear is but apparently it's not good
at making more complex drum beats. All his recent songs seem
to have a linear less playful less tinkery "drum machine"
feel.
Starting about 0:40 here (corn mouth)
LAZY_TITLE
the drum patterns are much better/more intricate and the
sound nuances of each hit are more unique. And of course the
tracks off the come 2 daddy album have much better drums
too. In other words his earlier tracks were quality not
quantity.

i think he is still capable of doing the intricate style
stuff, dont think it would necessarily fit with analord
style stuff. Your right though not to be too caught up on
the gear worship that some people get stuck into,

And then all the stupid soundcloud comments like, oh he
really replied to me, I'm his best friend. Well let me tell
you, I mean Tim and Eric are deep into the interworkings of
the illuminati and they made a video revealing this to those
with eyes to see on their bedtime stories called "the
endorsement". It is safest for them to reveal truth through
fiction. Almost all famous people have been murdered and
replaced with duplicates or clone imposters. That isn't
aphex twin, it's an agent pretending to be him and
collecting all his income, just like Dave Chappelle, look at
how different his imposter looks:
LAZY_TITLE
They don't even have to try very hard since they know the
vast majority of the public is on flouride and in fact they
make it obvious to those in the know on purpose as a
warning. There's millions of dollars of motive there. All
the centralized twitter/facebook/youtube accounts of these
people are completely controlled by imposters. Sure,
Chappelle is just suddenly much more muscular? Aphex Twin's
music just suddenly sounds different? "Don't forget to
subscribe", ha ha ha ha.

"All his recent songs seem to have a linear less playful

this has stuck in my head as on the mark; i've been stewing
it over for a few days now. i suppose the bottom line i've
arrived at is that i agree completely but i also feel i
understand why and i am ok with it.

you look at stuff like to cure a weaking child, he's clearly
just lost in nonlinear editing, on the hunt for a few days;
came back with a bunch of genius moments. lots of fiddly
manual slicing for hours and hours. stuff that induce a
feedback loop he said he found charming -- destroyfx buffer
override vst hello. or maybe it's the timestretch on an
S100; i dunno...

now he's older and he has four studious of all this
beautiful hardware. vibert said something like "no more amen
andrews; i don't have that intensity anymore." combine that
with how you have to work on hardware; i see him sitting
there for months dreaming up new routes to pipe in signals
from the circkloin666 out to the prophet VSass and he could
go into the audio tracks and edit them to shit but he's
having fun and fuck it.
