Learned of new Autechre due to lazy scrolling google cards
in the phone while in the rest room.

Fun but long :-)

Great to read they also can't follow everything that is
happening in the big world of (electronic) music.

Anyone else into ancient methods btw? I need an album to
start listening to.

No, I've never heard Ancient Methods. This got me curious as
well.

A search on Tidal brings back three titles: Seventh Seal - 4
track ep (2013), Turn Ice Realities into Fire Dreams - 4
track ep (2015) and La Saignée - Metaphysik - 2 track
single (2016)

Oh, and theres a bunch of colabs...listening now this is
repetitive - and I guess you could say atmospheric - german
techno, with a dark twist. It does not give me a buzz. I'd
rather go finish what I have left of those elseq's, number 4
and 5 that is. I sort of got stuck on mesh cinereaL, which I
fell in love with real hard.

Keeping up with everything that is going on is impossible
and that does make me feel old sometimes and actually long
for the good old days of john peel and wobbly cassette
tapes. :-)

Interesting that they claim to be 100% Max now. I wonder if
that's for composition and also for sound generation? Does
anyone recognize the sound of any hardware they're
triggering? Elseq does feature that shreddy kind of sound I
associate with Max MSP.

I understand what you mean, but knowledge doesn't dispel any
of the magic. I think it's awesome that they express their
intentions through code instead of by marking little bricks
in a piano roll.

MAX/msp. I really wish I could do that. I've seen a few
tutorials and concluded that, no, I can't! It almost makes
me feel a bit sad, but my programming skills are pretty much
summed up by the programming I did in Basic on my c64 during
the eighties:

10 PRINT "SOMETHINGFUNNYMOSTLIKELYADIRTYWORD"
20 GOTO 10

RUN

SOMETHINGFUNNYMOSTLIKELYADIRTYWORD
SOMETHINGFUNNYMOSTLIKELYADIRTYWORD

recognize the treatment of samples you can do with max msp
in autechre music
