Hi, hahathhat

We've noticed that you've not been active on We Are The
Music Makers Forums Forums for quite some time now, and you
have therefore been moved to a group for inactive users

(possibly because i was banned from the aforementioned
forum forums)

Please note that as of August 2013, all new and renewing
accounts (including yours) are paid-only - if you had an
active subscription, you will be returned to your previous
subscribed group.

(your status as a banned member is in jeoprady)

If you were only in the Members group, then in order to post
again, you must purchase at least a Supporting Member annual
subscription (3.00USD) - this is an annual subscription, and
does not automatically renew.

(please pay three dollars to continue being banned)

You will be sent a notification when your subscription is
about to expire.

(lol)

i figured the most proper way to tell the man to get stuffed
was to donate five times the amount he requested to xltronic
instead, and did. fifteen dollars, and i get nothing for it,
except satisfaction

xltronic is zombified

phobiazero doesnt give a fuck about this site ;-)

watmm is shit but syro probably wouldnt be released without
that site. it was joyrex who arranged for the caustic window
album, that put aphex in a good mood so he shared syro with
us then did the soundcloud dump.

phobiazero not giving a fuck + joyrex getting loads of aphex
recordings released = dominance of shit watmm site.

here's what needs to happen:
someone buys xltronic, nurtures it
calls aphex twin, asks him to support xlt instead of watmm
get loads of new aphex released all with xlt name on it
then watmm will die

^ it would be hypocritical of me to be unthankful for Joyrex
getting caustic window lp out there, that was an excellent
thing, i think it enabled soundcloud as well which is
another truly excellent thing, not sure i would say it was
behind Syro getting released, that sounds a bit far fetched
but what do I now

oh yeah i know really i was having a laugh, American Tv
shows are better than British ones nowadays i think, but the
problem is they have to have like 20 odd episodes per season
so they get padded out too much

i think i was misunderstood. you guys talk about it like
picking a religion or political party! i do not give a shit
about turning it into some message board competition, xlt is
just a good niche for posting a particular subfolder of
nonsense and thank you very much for not fucking with it.

take myspace. myspace was never going to come back like it
was before, but trying to get it to blast off again with a
"new mypsace" only buried it for certain. the guys who got
control of it didn't understand why the remaining users
stuck around, and pissed them off trying to pander to a
demographic who solidly did not give a fuck.

in short, i feel it is very easy to ruin the vibe of a place
by trying to force it to become something else, and that the
difficulty of sitting on your hands when you run a board is
vastly underrated. there is a deep urge to turn into a clone
of mark zuckerbird and fix this, monetize that, and begin
treating your userbase like shares in your stock portfolio
instead of the fickle neophobes that they are.

We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in
the morning, clean the lake, faff. eat a handful of hot
gravel, faff, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence

old watmm vs. new watmm. i miss old watmm.... they never
quite let me post all the aphex shit threads (which, for the
record, i absolutely had to divest somewhere in order to
avert mental breakdown), but it worked, more or less. even
moreso after i caved and made a forum on riced out yugo for
the aphex threads. that's riced out yugo, the stuff people
yell at me to post somewhere else.

on old watmm, posting was free. i donated for a paid account
anyways, because postings was good there. new watmm, posting
is not free. new watmm, i am banned. posting is not free. on
a thunderous evening, plots of a 50c tarriff for a avatars
above seventeen kilobytes. 21, you're no fun.

forumwise, i miss the more technical threads for
music-making fings, and the generally fresh track posting
area, and many of the people who i don't seem to see
anywhere else.

beyond that, i found good boards for the things, and around
bantime (2012) i spent way too much time on forums (the same
way many people just play video games too fucking much) and
getting banned from watmm was like cigarettes deciding to
quit themselves. i was not happy, but there was no fight in
me on the matter whatsoever because it saved me the hassle.

really, though, why would you hit up banned members for the
membership fee? i figure it's not intentional; he simply
didn't sit down and make sure he'd coded up the email alert
properly. like companies sending junk mail to people a year
deceased. joyrex, i had only just gotten over the loss of my
dear hahathhat. and now this. i'm going to need therapy. i
demand reprimands

i dont like sites that are too heavily moderated, because
even though you get alot of shit posting in forums that
arent moderated enough, you always get overly zealous
knobheads who stifle interesting debate when they dont like
what your saying, little keyboard despots

fav+ honestly

Phobzy, if you can't get a proper job and you treat xlt
domain as a source of income then please try get a proper
job and let people who really love electronic music to take
over and make the proper use of of xlt....while there's
still anyone interested in doing so. There are many peeps
who still believe in this "place" to make it make alive.
While for years you acted like a joyrecks dupe and bringing
this place to death. JUST SAYING.

move along, nothing to see here, move along......

p.s. why I have this strange feeling of banging my head
against a cyber wall ? ....hmmm

yeah this is one of universal mysteries to me too. but maybe
he just didn't care as much as we all did and as much as we
thought he did ? I am saying "maybe" cause I don't know his
real-life motives here really, just speculating. But I'm
really thinking "most likely".

I mean if I care about something I won't let it rot.

I had an idea for a conspiracy Keanu meme, though:
"xlt...watmm...joyrex....phobiazero.....WHAT IF BEHIND ALL
OF THEM IS JUST 1 PERSON = RDJ HAVING THE CYBER LOL"

*grins*

Didn't the term come from journalists trying to deal with
the fact rock was opening up?

They do like to box things. I guess the term quickly
branched out to other mediums.
