Idiots don't particularly excel in, or enjoy thinking about
'deep' stuff. Or you could argue they're quite possibly
incapable of it.

The saying comes from the idea that therefore they don't
worr much, and live a happy, ignorant life.

Now you explain, I did my bit even though I asked you first!

ignorant people doesn't seem to be happy. always there
trying to orchestrate something, manipulate, buy people,
centers of paranoid thought

I didn't use the word ignorant for a start, and even if we
use it it, idiots, imbeciles etc. don't "orchestrate" or "
manipulate". It's not within their capacity.

It's just a saying in in the French language. Often badly
translated, or let's say roughly translated as a
'happy-go-lucky'.

I'm not saying I find the concept highly accurate. I was
just curious as you seemed to imply me wanting to know "too
much" wasn't a good thing.

"ignorant people doesn't seem to be happy. always there
trying to orchestrate something, manipulate, buy people,
centers of paranoid thought"

there was some tv thing about this cop who was working with
that diaz guy from scarface. the way he talks, he would seem
to remember these days fondly. but then it obviously caused
some real messes (or he wouldn't be on tv, he'd be out
living it up somewhere) and he's crying over some of the
terrible shit and you can tell he's not faking it. i
remember thinking something like: this guy did this shit
because it felt right at the time and he was too stupid to
see where it would lead. now he's in a world of hurt and
he's too stupid to see it's his fault. being stupid means
your own actions are full of messes and consequences that
you might carry with you your whole life, and you can't stop
it. hell, it's that way for everyone, but i imagine being
genuinely dumb is a bit of a minefield. never knowing what
terrible decisions you're about to make and how bad it will
be this time. i'd be paranoid too

"I imagine being genuinely dumb is a bit of a minefield"

:D You imagine?

Ignorance can be bliss, that's pretty straight forward.

As for not assuming your actions, I'm not sure wether that
fits in with the context. It's not what the saying means.

We probably all have a different idea with regards to what
an imbecile, or idiot is.

Aaaaaanyway.

I just *did* the Tarot this morning, for the first time,
and maybe it's beginner's luck but it made so much sense.
I've felt, for the longest time, that I am just waiting for
death, that even my responsibilities are some kind of
indulgence. I have neglected so many aspects of "life". Does
London do that to a man? Or jusst being alive in the wrong
way? That said, last night I had a wicked dream about
doppelgangers, but then I had overloaded my pizza with red
hot chillis earlier in the evening. I am going to write it
up as a cool short story now.

Tarot can be really interesting, I'd love to have it done by
Jodorowski.

Apparently he does free readings on a Friday in this little
cafe in Paris. Maybe we should have a romantic weekend
together.
