hot water bottle efficiency

hi.
fancy saving cash on heating so you can buy music gear for
example.

i don’t know the maths but as a general thought...

a gas fire : 30 percent of the heat is lost up a chimney.

the remaining 70 percent goes throughout the room ....but
most is eventually lost out the walls, the ceiling and so
forth.

so many factors to consider, outside temps, size of room,
what the person is doing in the room.( sitting or moving)..

anywayz, a hot water bottle can be placed up your jumper (in
that very small, highly insulated space and so you can enjoy
almost all the heat)

If your toes get cold you can place a hot water bottle on a
pillow on the floor (to insulate it from the ground) and
then rest your feet on it.

hot water bottles are very efficient and worth having a
least one.

thermoplastic is best, (fashy is good) as it doesn’t stink
of melted rubber.

peace.

ooo and a nice bowl of porridge, at the moment i am in my
living room, wearing a sherpa blanket and eating a bowl of
porridge, trying to save gas for really cold days

I sometimes use a hot water bottle when its deep winter, i
have a wobbly left hand and i scold myself when i fill them

did your mum ever say dont wear a coat indoors or you wont
feel the benefit when you get outside, i never understood
the logic in that

yeah its that as the coat warms up after you put it on you
think your better off.

i prefer to put it on indoors to warm it up and then go
out.

putting it on just as you go out , nah. at least wait a few
mins.

you can get a hot water bottle filling stand.

i cant be without my hot water bots.

1.75 coke bottle of hot water (a "hotty") placed between the
thighs is great for muscle pain

Freqy: that stand looks handy for filling, and yes if you
insulate yourself with a coat before you leave the house,
you create a pocket of warm air around your body

Belb: that sounds like a top tip

yes i was partially joking, i have an extra blanket on top
of the wardrobe for cold nights, the place where i am
currently has large high rooms so its takes time to warm up.

your right though cold sucks alot, one of my fathers jobs
was a cable jointer for manweb when they were still around,
he said the older guys used to wee on their hands the
ammonia would stop their hands from freezing

I had a nasty teacher, evil . just pure evil.

btw, That pollyfiller joke could have been greater, if i had
thought longer, been more determined, typed it up better and
added maybe a picture too. : )

yes, im not sure if it happens so much now but the teaching
profession definitely used to attract the odd nutter, I had
a teacher called Mr Eshelby the gym teacher who used to
throw pens at your head if your talked

he wore sprinting short, and a 70s vest and had a mustache,
he looked like an east german footballer, his claim to fame
was being a on the books as a reserve player at QPR, he was
mildly psychotic

one used to scream in my face,I was only 5 years old. all i
did was move in the wrong direction.

she was old, she knew she would be dead before the kids grew
old enough to get her back. really. that's how bad she was.
screaming is worse than a slap.

this is a true story of my day

i was watching spider man today, I think he had some high
tech on the go under the mask...he had a belt of mobile
devices too and maybe special VR glasses? looked pretty
decent stuff....he also had a Mc donalds sign on a stick
saying "free burga" or something?.. I think he was in a VR
office, he looked really messed up tho, the suit did not fit
...but he was chating away...maybe performing business
deals...either that or he was insane? y' can never tell
these days...in the old days if people walked past you
chating by themselves you knew. Now they could be high
flying business mens in VR office environments. lol : )

i always freak out when i see people chundering away to
themselves walking along, then i realise they are chatting
to their hands free mobile, ]
I kind of want a VR helmet to play Elite dangerous on, but
they are prohibitively expensive, also i feel like if i get
one i will be flying around pluto when i should be cooking
tea or something

some winters ago i insulated my windowsills with cheapo-jizz
and put some cloth down at my entrance door. filling up your
heaters with the right amount of water and venting them
also had huge effects on heating. wearing a wollen inside is
such an immense improvement over sweat shirts aswell.
then i was lucky i got woollen scarf, beanie and gauntlets
from my tailor gf, now im always snug as a bug :)
oh and drinking hot stuffz like fresh ginger tea and other
teas keep you warm and healthy all year round!
