Living in the time of Great TV-shows

So I'm watching all these wonderful series, right now
Hannibal, next Tuesday the next episode of Fargo, and I'm
imagining where big studio executives in the old days were
making everything more boring and predictable (like they're
still doing in Hollywood, with those awful Marvel movies for
instance), they're now saying: "This is so boring, can you
make it more fantastic? Maybe even more non-obvious
symbolism?"

Great times.

i'm curious about this new Netflix show, Jessica Jones. i'm
wondering if it's actually good or gardians of the galaxy
okay

Why can't I get into season 3 of Hannibal?

Series 1 and 2 were two of my favourite shows. I've just
given up with season 3. It's too sombre visually, and a bit
boring.

Maybe I just wasn't feeling right!

I must admit i dont watch much tv, some of these tv shows
look pretty good, they always seem to flag in the end though
when they fire the original producer or whatever and it
becomes completely different in tone

extra terrestrial vision would be fun.

if i manage to find an alien tv frequency, would I have to
pay for a tv license on Earth? even if the frequency came
from outer space on a completely different frequency and i
needed to design a special tv set top box?

If I were in the UK,.. then yes, very likely the bbc would
fine me. what a daft question.

good day to you.

the tv licensing officers will be onto them in a flash if
they find out. wanting access to check their ships for tv
sets.

No wonder the aliens need to keep moving fast with anti
gravity thingys.

Yep i agree that tv series is great nowadays i prefer it
over movies nowadays. I really liked the marvel daredevil
one and i whatch jessica jones at the moment and i really
like it to. Im on episode 11 on jessica jones. Daredevil was
a bit better i think. Jessica Jones maybe had a slow start
but gets better some episodes in. Arrested development is
awesome fun but is starting to drop in quality i feel in
season 3. Sherlock holmes was ace soon new season yay. Mr
robot: what obara said, maybe the 3 first episodes where the
best then not so good it was ok though. Fargo s2 i will see
that but now i am on netflix but i am planning on switching
to hbo soon again. Anyone think dr who is good ? I saw
david tennant is in it and hes good in jessica jones.

notice, however,... how they claim that by simply owning a
tele constitutes a criminal offense, whether it is connected
to an aerial or inside ones stomach being digested. I think
there were a few meetings up top regarding this part of the
television 'program'. (pulls a funny wRik expression)

The used to have a point funding the bbc as it used to have
quite a few interesting and diverse programs, yet they dont
really cater to my demographic, and they make far too many
rote by numbers, cookery and dancing, stuff that doesnt have
interesting content, there used to be loads of crap as well
but at least one in a while there would be something worth
paying you license fee for, like young ones

many great bbc shows for sure. for the comedy alone.

Did you know they are now very likely going to force uk
residence to pay the bbc fees through their council
taxation? Now it doesn’t matter if one eats a tele....tele
or not, all will pay the fees ( except old people and the
servilely disabled). even if a person leaves the country
for 6 months when they return they pay for other peoples
watching of 80's reruns, antiques / travel and quiz shows.
tv in the house or not. no more need to detect or force
entry or go to court. They will make more money than ever
before, even if everyone burns their teles.

yep, maybe it is the fluoride in the food and water, bath
tubs shower mist and toothpaste? who knows what people
would be like without it?

they are also trying to force that across the uk too.
probably to help enforce the bbc fees.

most sane people brush their teeth. To force those sane
people to pay to drink a topical medication of others that
do not brush their teeth, systemically (into their stomachs)
so they cannot spit it out. Causing bone disorders and
calcification of the pineal gland forced to consume without
a warning on the water bill or able o opt out if sensitive
to it. forced through tax. Is so insane that it is hard to
type it out logically to be readable.

paying to drink other peoples toxic toothpaste without being
informed or with an opt out. basically.

be forced down our throats as well, no doubt about it, oh
well back to floppy disks,

"Writing in the British Medical Journal, they added:
“Evidence on the potential benefits and harms of adding
fluoride to water is relatively poor.”
Earlier this month, a paper in the Lancet said fluoride had
been newly categorised as a neurotoxin, a type of chemical
that has links to brain damage and IQ losses. It suggested
that further research should be carried out concerning the
possibility of a link between fluoride and neurological
development."

sounds like a legit concern

interesting i was think about this today, about the future
of the net, either being like the matrix where we become
submerged or limited/blocked and/or pay per view. i wonder
what will happen.

maybe we will find a way to connect by reflecting lazers off
the moon and clouds and random seagulls and pigeons, so no
need for corporate satalites. lol.

given up fluoridation the US has not. i think most states
are fluoridated.

i like Russia allot , they want to be the main producers of
organic food.

yeah tomorrows world was brilliant ultil most of the
segments became about pioneering surgery, which was ok in
small doeses, but they had this new format where they had
Phillipa Forester looking concerned over a robot arm
cuttinng a watermelon with a scalpel, and you knew all the
cool stuff like holographic tv would be at the end

why star trek next generation now seems sort of unreachable
utopia, no concept of cash, back when it was made it looked
like the logical future, but now the world is a more
dangerous place the new star trek films which i dont like
reflect that as everything is a warzone

I do worry allot more these days about the future of the
general public.
but i think the elitesgroups are very comfortable with their
future.

they have bunkers now that can withstand very large
meteorite impacts . that detect shock waves deep underground
and compensate. Humans will live on, so its a good thing in
a way. i just how humans will not cause so much harm out in
space and not vivisect alien creatures when they finally
reach a populated planet; take note of the teachings of
Kirk, Spock and Picard.

that's probs what got it cancelled. so that's my whole
premise for this thread out of the door.

i'm talking about art.

apperantly hannibal took it too far.

Netflix shows are doing pretty far out things.

if you say arrested development i'm saying Bojack Horseman.
it pretty much has a cult following too. and, i think,
rightfully so. first it's very funny but also, second, it's
pretty deep and, third, very void of cliches. i just love it
darn much. you have to watch the whole first season, or
something, to really get to see what it's about.

the cancelling and firing the original director you're
talking about the walking dead (still haven't seen it). if
i'm not mistaking amc pulled all the money from that show to
put it in Breaking Bad, seeing Breaking Bad, that might have
been a justifyable decision.
is mad men amc too, it is, right? because that's maybe the
one that wins them all. the most accomplished series. so
deep but also so enjoyable to watch: funny at times, such
archs (spelling?) for people (or not in the sense that many
keep making the same mistakes)

The Wire is pretty great too but maybe more an expose on
society's problems instead of, for instance, focussing on
the development of the characters. but that's okay too

I gave season three a break then came back to it and loved
the plot arc in florence and the pig farmer stuff. I'm not
really enjoying the francis dolarhyde story arc, finding it
hard to sit through the last ep and a half. (these aren't
spoilers I think)

"i'm talking about art. Apparently hannibal took it too
far."

I disagree. Series one, and two were very artistic, and it's
what I loved about it.

I feel season 3 is pedantic. I haven't seen it all but so
far I mostly enjoy the flashbacks with Eddie Izzard eating
himself.

-spoiler warning-: russel dust post has spoilers

im still watching season 3

it is a bit pedantic, but really not more than before. and
an excuse might be they wanted to abandon the 'killer of the
week' format.

those scenes with eddie izzard are some of the finest
television ever, he is so so funny. so it's unfair to
compare it to that. i'm getting the feeling maybe the ideas
were running low. -spoilers- it's pretty lame everyone was
dead at the end of season 2 and then alive again after all
starting season 3
