I think it's more of an infinite series diverges to infinity.
sigma where n=0 (sinx^x)/(n!)
or a good series that fluxuates -1

The only reason I compare Aphex and Squarpusher to Calculus is because both seem to be chaos, but when you look closely, they are actually perfection. It just takes some understanding. A good math function looks crazy until you understand the end result is zero or infinity or some absolute value.

I agree with spookyluke, it should just be called "IDM" which doesn't mean anything.
The letters go well together, and I like the way it looks.

I think IDM is a great term, when I see it used to describe music I know exactly what to expect. As for 'Emo'...

yeah, the term is stupid... but I find it good to use to actually get across the style of music... electronica is a pretty broad term when you want to refer to Autechre like groups... when someone says IDM, we all know the type of music... it's still a dumb term...

I have resorted to answering inquiries with the following: "I enjoy many different composers and improvisers." This covers all of my favorites from Bach to Penderecki to Autechre to Miles to Holdsworth.
