Many sharks lay soft-shelled eggs but hammerheads give birth to live young that look like miniature versions of their parents. Young hammerheads are often born headfirst, with the tip of their hammerhead folded backward to make them more streamlined for birth.
if you have any interesting animal/nature trivia please post them in this thread, don't hesitate
sincere thanks in advance from

More people die from texting on mobile phones than shark bites per year.
Approx 75% of spider bites occur from people trying to kill the spider.

does that factor in how many shark bites are caused by mobile phones?

Interesting variable which I doubt was considered. If sharks could bite from mobile phones I would be using that app right now.

Here is a fact about the birds and the bees: There are no birds. And there are no bees.

They've found a couple of marine species that seem to have the capacity to endlessly regenerate their cells haven't they?
Now they need to keep some under surveillance for for as many human generations as possible.
Forgot their names, one is a form of jellyfish... I'll find a link in a bit. Enjoying a quiet beer and smoke in my kitchen, posting from a phone, which I don't enjoy.

Axolotls are neotenic amphibious salamandas , they can regenerate limbs and even internal organs, they are being used for scientific research for understanding cell regeneration and for molecular cancer supression in humans. They share a similar dna structure to humans and are possibly very close as our early ancestors. interestingly, under certain conditions that are not fully understood, they can under go metamorphosis to land dwelling salamandas.
