Anger, the anger comes from having a good read on joyrex early on that he is a sleezy used car salesman, and my being compelled to go against those feelings to be a part of a cool/neat experience, and then to have those previous feelings confirmed with a pretty shit rip from a record that was purported to have never been played, and to have been profressionally ripped, apparently. Followed by 16+1 email updates/spam. It's always more infuriating when you take a leap of faith and have your doubts confirmed. So yea. A lot of hot air over a schmuck who deserves not even hot air. |

without trying i've recorded better quality from records 40 years old. using the cheapest steinberg sound card and audacity. with no de-clicking needed. i understand that the mastering of cat023 may have been poor, as they were test presses, but that's a thin argument to excuse the recording as a whole. If you listen to the recording carefully. it's riddled with dirt/static clips and doesn't appear to have any post rip mastering done to it at all. a de-clicking filtre was probably added after the rip, making sound even more low-fi than it had to. the record was played a lot and/or poorly cleaned. no professional would have allowed this. as for the email list, joyrex claims that the emails were sent to some Grant dude at rephlex. Why this grant bloke even had everyone's email from the cat023 kickstarter baffles me, because the page for downloading the tracks was propped up by joyrex. no one at rephlex should have needed any of this information. joyrex's ego just compels him bullshit his way through stuff. when he claimed that the record was unplayed and was going to be professionally mastered, he was probably just making it up as he went because some people were asking him the tough questions about the authenticity, source, quality etc. this colundi shit is probably coming from the same fuck who tried to sell cat023 from the start. some fucking broke ass chav with little self respect |
