Thanks -Crazone, do want :-) Sounds great! Always loved all
the different sounds of Tom Jenkinson, another music
chamaleon besides RDJ!!

have mixed feelings, i feel like i shouldn't criticize
squarepusher as he is one of the all time greats, but feels
like lately its been diminishing returns although i haven't
heard the new album hope i will like it more than last one.
I know musicians cant do the same thing forever but i do
prefer it when it was just a 101 some samples and a bass, he
managed to make more interesting music, this is just my
opinion. and no means do i think he is making crap music
nowadays just less to my personal tastes

He always confuses/annoys people, especially those who like
electro. I love that.

lol gotta youtube that again xD

--------------------

dunno what this new track indicates....is that what he still
is into or does he play with his old fanbase expectations ?
robot musics/musings aside...."damogen furies" on its own
sounds pretty weak. I'll come back to it when full album
appears. got too much more interesting music to check out to
give any more second to a bleak track like
this....Lackluster and Impakt secret archives have been let
loose lately.....they're surely way sexier than this sorry
effort ! Sorry Tom, hahah

^ actually he had his hair down but was around the time the
pony tail appeared, yeah i mean it would be naive of me to
expect my tastes to align with his, perhaps i lack the
perception to find whats good about his last few releases,
it just seems to me he is more interested in his heady
concepts than making music people might like, then again
suppose he was always uncompromising so i admire him for
that

sounds as bad as ufabulum,
squarepusher was epic melodies and intrincate beats,
this is just nonsense boring electric glitch.

i will give it a try for sure, as sp albums are also about
the concept, but wont buy it if the melodies sound as stupid
as ufabulum...

I love old school Squarepusher as much as anyone else who
has any sense of taste... But this new track..... Wow. Da
fuck. It's not bad, but it's like he's showing his version
of American style dubstep (Skrillex et al).

* Signs in to expand * I downloaded it at work and
listened to it yesterday twice. First time I was waiting for
the track to go anywhere. The second time I was just waiting
for it to end. Then I listened to it again today at work,
and I felt angry and embarrassed. Then I switched to my
usual working soundtrack of non-threatening dub techno /
sub-Basic Channel and, I hit the space bar and iTunes
started playing this fucking Damogen Furies track over it
and I thought "what an excellent way to ruin any mix, by
dropping this unloveable clanger in the middle". And I felt
angry and ashamed again.

"I was waiting for the track to go anywhere"

I see what you mean. You know me, always defending his muso
side, but this one is underwhelming.

just heard Drax 2 and thought why the hell does he need to
release Ufabulum 2 - especially now, when lotsa people are
on RDJ wave awaiting new tracks. I'd wait at least a few
months before showing some generic "IDM"....oh, pardon
me..."AFX" track like this.

Tom is unpredictible and follows his own ways, I'll give him
that. but that new track....I have bad feelings about this.
Good luck, man.

unpredictAble...fuck

Fuck putting tricks up his sleeve-- he needs to put the
tricks in the music. When Squarepusher gets into the
textile industry I might be interested in his sleeves, but
otherwise, the dude's gotta shine in audio. I don't care
how many Daft Punk masks he puts on.

Actually, if he puts on 15 masks at once, I'd be pretty
impressed.

xD

yeah performance tricks options are getting limited. short
hair, long hair, pony tail, jazz bassist solo on stage,
mirror/led-masked future-freak...what's left ? complete
darkness ? ha ! Ae already did that !

I still second my own idea from years back: let him gather a
real band of humans - oh god no robots - record Shobaleader
2 and go on world tour supporting some crazy japanese
electro-rock group. Something close to that dream he
described in the sleeve of ..."Just A Souvenir" [?]

i think he should do a household objects pink floyd style
thing with plungers, spoons and rubber bands and have Status
Quo as his backing band and exclusively tour IKEA branches.
His main instrument would be a midi controlled Henry the
Hoover
