Its really good. Well worth getting. I recently bought Tiny
Reminders but am not as keen. I think there's another called
Further Reminders and one in between which I can't recall
the name of. Its a mini-album I think.

definately worth getting bob-its a great album-dont think
there a duff track on there in my book-and the last track is
just lush. and if you dig that next id recommend 'a virus
with shoes' minimalist funk/hip hop beats laced with
electro....then again im a huge weatheral fan so im a bit
biased-i picked up the wilmot cd single the other day for a
quid!!!-id like to get hold of some of keith tenniswoods
'radioactive man' work-anybody heard any of his solo
stuff???

I haven't heard any radioactive man. Have you got any Sabres
of Paradise albums? I taped Haunted Dancehall but I'm not
sure I've got it anymore. Have you heard the David Holmes
remix of Smokebelch II? I love it, I love it.

the first album is stay down,
then comes tiny reminders
and further reminders is the remix album.
or?
is "a virus with shoes" 2ls' or an other weatherall
project?
sabres' ?
anyway, they are all good.

oooh yes jonesy-ive got haunted dancehall-its smart as eggs.
i do recall that holmes mix ive got it on 12inch somewhere..
weatherall set up a label called 'emissions' when he split
up the sabres-wish id bought into that more, i used to
collect the 'sabrettes' stuff as well-they had a trio called
'innersphere' who were dead smart-reminds me a bit of some
of the electro stuff the swordsmen put out...smart-anyone
seen weatherall dj? ive seen him twice, at a night called
1977 at the electrowerks (afx and jarvis cocker were there
as well -listen to ken and his famous friends!!) and at the
music box in manchester-did an acid house night. ive also
seen the swordsmen at the custard factory in brum-very very
very intense set...ill shut up now cuz its sounds like im
bragging-hey jonesy, david holmes had a 12 inch on warp ages
ago called 'exploding plastic inevitable'-that was smart. 15
minutes of hard hard techno. blah blah blah...

I've got a 12" with Sabres stuff under another name, or
maybe its a remix they did. It has a bright pink cover. I'll
have to dig it out.

I haven't got that no. David Holmes has really changed since
his debut album. Do you rate him?

not really no, i was really looking forward to his debut
album 'this films crap...'..and was gutted when i listened
to him-prior to that he did a smart load of remixes-i
remember he did an overall of st etiennes 'like a motorway'
that was a stunning mix. since then ive heard bits and bobs
but cant say that any of it has really had much of an
impression-still, ive read the odd interview with him and he
sounds like he knows his stuff. not my cup of brine though.
is he a fav of yours??

I got into dance music through some remixes he did of
Therapy?'s Die Laughing. That was my introduction to
non-guitar music. Some of his first album is good, the
second is great and his last one is ok.

You're right, he knows his stuff. He plays really old stuff
now. 60s stuff etc.

hes got a compilation of rare funk stuff out at the moment??
didnt he do some stuff with primal scream and kris needs as
well???

Maybe. I know Bobby Gillespie is on the last album. They all
associate with each other I think. Them and Death In Vegas.
Like them?

dont know much about them to be honest!! did you hear the
last primals album? did you enjoy that? some of that was
produced by death in vegas (i think)-and kooner and burnz
the other members of the sabres. and kevin shields as
well!!! remember that lazy non-productive cunt??

Is he lazy? He's a member of the Primals right? I've got
Xterminator but haven't really listened to it properly. I
loved Vanishing Point but missed the boat with
Screamadelica. By the time I heard it, it sounded dated.

Stay Down is lovely..been on high rotation on my player
lately...
yeah a virus with 2 shoes is 2LS as well and excellent..very
eccentric...kind of a continuation of the Stay Down..but
kinda lighter and sillier...

i must find those eps.
has anyone heard 2ls' first album "the fifth mission". it's
on the above mentioned weatherall's label.
is it hard to find?

i heard the spine bubbles remix, wich was fantastic, so i
bought the "a virus with shoes" ep. i was a little
dissapointed with it and never listened to 2ls since. maybe
i should give it another try. 2ls seem to be in the shadow
of all the big WARP names...

yeah the first song on Virus with two shoes is a bit
dodgy..but the rest flows very nicely...not a revolutionary
studio wiz kid ep though..just very cool slightly surreal
songs...
