I clearly remember being on xlt (aphextwin.nu back then) a summer night in 2002, chatting about this and that, and then somebody suggested me Boards of Canada "Music has the right to children". I got the album off soulseek (another thing that came with xlt) and listened to it on my crappy, but trusty, Sennheiser headphones. Then when I reached the end of Rue the Whirl, I looked out the window, and the sun was coming up. I removed my headphones right in the part where there's all the bird twitter, and I heard the twitter from the outside also - the day was dawning, and I've been spending the whole night discovering new stuff, that all came from here. To this day I still flashback to that summer night when i head Rue the Whirl, and MHTRTC is still one of my favorite albums. Being a part of the Vibes compilations was also good fun, and the response of all my crappy spam tunes has also given me good knowledge and what sounds good/bad in production. This place will always be in my memory - 13 years of inspiration. |
