heard a song on a pirated episode of CSI. googled the
lyrics, found them posted illegally on one of those lyric
sites. verified it was the song i heard on an illegal fan
youtube vid. went to [private torrent site], it was down.
went to [public torrent site A]. the torrent for the album
was slow, but i found another album i wanted and snagged
that. went to [public torrent site B], found a faster
torrent, but left the first torrent downloading because it
was DTS. listening to the song in a freeware mp3 player on a
pirated copy of windows right now. i own two of this band's
albums already, and if the whole album is as good as that
one track, i'll be buying it shortly.

I bought more music than ever in 2014, because digital
distribution made it easier for me to download the music i
want to listen to, on my fucking phone.
Example Syro: I went to a local record store, to buy a
physical copy the day it came out. Of course they didn't
have it. So, i just downloaded it onto my phone over Google
Play while i walked home.

Should have just told the computer, "Isolate background
music... Enhance it".

seriously frustrated on this, which is why i made this
topic. argued with that GWC guy a bunch. super dude for even
responding to my horseshit, seriously, and rephlex closing
guts me more than anything since sublight. he said stuff
like: "why upload new shit to the rephlex digital store,
people will just pirate it? at least vinyl sells." ugh.
you're killing me, dude.

Piracy has been an issue the whole time, so to say that it
was because of piracy just recently is disingenuous. The
real reason reptile closed is because it got all lame and
popular with places like watmm and diuchebags all over the
internet who got into aphex through deadmau5 and skrillex

They also closed because of people like yourself and how
annoying you are.

He said they lost 1000s on the analord binder, but everyone
had them all already including the picture disc.. never
really understood that one. Sell the individuals and get the
binder? Have two sets of analords? Sell to people who don't
have rips already? Not sure what the plan was there. Anyway
RIP rephlex

I understand why you would go to all that trouble. The music
on CSI is brilliant.

they've had an analord or three on CSI, yep. which makes me
wonder why they cry pauper? wouldn't they clear like $30k on
a single licensed track? respect for rephlex's contribution,
but they could have stayed profitable if they weren't so up
their own arses.

Sorry man, I stopped watching ages ago when it was all
Chrystal Meth and other generic stuff.

I have a friend who had a few tracks on CSI, he spoke of a
database you can upload your tracks to.

I guess they've upgraded a bit now. Maybe Ted Danson had a
word.
