Techno is played out and dead

If you disagree, state your reasoning. I am open to be
convinced otherwise. It seems like new genres/artists are
simply going through the motions that established artists
have already done ages ago and. Itching is new, both in
respect to presentation and actual musical content.

Music that is new and also techno, unless produced or ghost
written by aforementioned established artists, tends to be
shallow imitation/ derivative and routinely falls short of
the mark.

This is my own personal opinion and even then I don't figure
this to be true in all cases, but I think a lot of it has to
do with Technology. Nowadays I'd imagine a vast majority of
the music is written using software and producers
essentially have everything at their fingertips.

I think the old adage "less is more" has a lot of truth to
it in this case. People had to get imaginative with the
limitations that were in place before, whereas now the lower
difficulty curve and sheer convenience degrades the quality
music being produced.

Absolutely

Skrillex tutorials up the ass

Although I have used one no shame here.

So on the one hand, Techno is dead because of technology and
derivitive routine, but also anyone who liked/likes original
Acid music born from its time is a 50 year old hipster that
you also have dislike for?

Your skrillex love says it all. You're a closet pre op gay
man dyke with no love for anything but yourself.

I think using "techno" as a catch all for all electronic
dance music is only acceptable when speaking condescendingly
to someone who's not familiar, but is entirely not
acceptable when addressing this board. Just kidding use
whatever terms succinctly convey your massage but it's just
that you're dumb is all.

techno is music from the future so real techno cannot be
played out. the media, government, financial institutions
held techno back...

while all of you were kvetching, i've gone ahead and
iterated to techno 2.1. now the word on the street is that
my disruptive techno brings all the angel VCs to the
incubator -- so clear your calendars next week, they're
meeting with me now

Personally i don't think techno is dead. Lately i have been
asking myself, what is important to me. Instead of hanging
around on the net, id rather invest more time in music

Yeah, rock is dead, punk is dead, prog is dead, electronic
is dead, techno is dead, classical is dead, hip hop is dead,
blues is dead, folk is dead, jazz is dead, country is dead,
experimental music is dead...

Have these style evolved greatly? No, I'll give you that,
but it doesn't mean they die.

Seriously then, define techno.

It's like saying dinosaurs are extinct, but then saying well
no they're not what about birds. There are some really
interesting dinosaur influenced birds coming out but no
actual purist dinosaurs, they are dead. Just like no matter
how many Flaming Lips and White Stripes albums come out you
can't actually make a new 70s classic rock album because it
can't actually be the scene of the 70s again. It's doomed
to be a 'post' work, a period piece, retro and so on.

They go out of style, like moral fashions. If techno goes
down we all will go down, that means we are getting old

ELECTRONIC EVOLUTION EXAMPLE

It's interesting when an artist who was seminal to certain
aspects of sound in their day loop around and incorporate
elements of what they may have influenced.

Another example is Scorn or Meat Beat and Dubstep, and this
FLA track is very post-Skrillex/the Plaza on Blops 2.
