I realize all the hipsters are buying vinyl. But are CD's
still relevant other than ripping at high quality and
flogging on?
Does anyone still rock a cd & amp?
Can we have a vote.

Spotify.
Downloads.
CD.
Vinyl.

"I realize all the hipsters are buying vinyl"

Does that make you angry? ;)

cds rule i listen 2 them all the time in a real life cd
player

its the best time ever 2 buy used cds right now cuz ppl are
practicly giving them away for free. its defiantly a better
deal vs buying mp3s most of the time unless ur talking about
recently released music even then sometimes not. in the late
80s / early 90s the same thing happend with vinyl records
ppl who stuck w/ vinyl thru that will brag how they got all
this cool vinyls super cheap and now there really rare. now
its hapening with cds well except maybe the being rare part
i dunno im not nostrodamus

vinyls cool 2 but the problem is most albums u see in stores
on vinyl im not interested. if u look at used cds compared
to used vinyl theres a way better chance u find something
cool in the cds. but u can still find sometimes cool vinyl
for cheap if u look hard i found "mark isham - tibet" for
$0.50 cents the other day

I wish you'd stop thinking I was a troll. Apart from
amicable feuds I have ongoing with two members, from who I
take an awful amount of shit, I'm really trying to behave
and be kind.

If you think I'm being a cunt, it could mean I'm being
cuntish but not a troll. I don't purposely go out of my way
with a plan to be a dick, and often i saddens me when I get
abuse from trolls and called a troll by other members. ;)

Chill your boots. Dust, Just try & answer the question posed
in the thread and I might have some more respect for you.
Not everything in the world is about you.

This wasn't "all about" me. That's just something thrown
about, most of the time with no other intent than to be
snide.

You'll find people talk about themselves all the time.
Sometimes rather unfortunately, yet in this case it wasn't a
selfie or about what I just ate. It wasn't me throwing a
hissy fit, demanding to be liked. It was me (yes) asking you
to stop seeing me as a troll and to see me as someone who is
possibly brash, who sometimes forgets people have feelings,
someone opinionated.

It's clear I've taken my trips here far too seriously over
the years. Lately you've come across (for me, yes) as having
a real problem (with me, again the 'me'), taking into
account the few recent mildly aggressive messages you've
been throwing in my direction. Your last message of course
being a good example of what it means to be
passive-aggressive.

If you end up thinking this rather unfortunately massive
(for this place) post means I'm self-centred, and that I'm
throwing my toys out of the pram then you are mistaken. In
fact you thinking that could imply that you think it's all
about you. That I really care about what you think.

No one comes here or cares enough for me to act thinking I
have a public. Nor am I desperately trying to connect with
you. It's just my left eye starts to twitch and the
upper-left side of my lips starts to tremble when I'm told
it isn't all about me for absolutely no reason other than to
be prickly.

I hate hipsters but I do buy vinyl. Your statement is wrong.

I did not say everyone who buys vinyl is a hipster. I just
said "I realize all the hipsters are buying vinyl." Just
their latest craze/scene init. Therefore your interpretation
of my statement is incorrect ~crazone.

Just interested in the reasons people buy CD's rather than
getting the download. What choices informed your decision?
However much you might want me to arrest you, SignedUpToLOL
I am going to resist on this occasion, Thanks for the offer
though :)

The only reason I ever bought vinyl was because when I
bought it? It wasn't available on anything else. It's
pointless to buy vinyl just for the sake of having vinyl or
watch it's ok around on the platter, unless you're a douche
who thinks there's some kind of special thing about vinyl,
which at most is a slightly "warmer" sound which I reality
is total bullshit

The only people who buy vinyl to be cool are he same people
who go to sites like pitchfork and would consider music
journalism as a legitimate career

Oké my interpretation was wrong. To answer you question:
vinyl is what I buy most of the time.

There's clearly a difference compared to digital formats.

Some prefer it, some don't. If you don't hear a difference
though it's a bit worrying, for someone who makes tracks.

You're terrible at working people out. In your world it
seems like there's either cool people like you, or there's
"hipsters" who enjoy pitchfork. Your world is simplistic and
malevolent.

I don't think IQ tests are entirely reliable but you've
definitely shown me you belong in the 2 digits club.

I don't enjoy pitchfork, and you throw the word 'hipster'
around with no idea as to it's true meaning, like all the
cocks who constantly seek attention by being dicks with
others.

You're the sort of person who writes an angry manifesto
about how much he hates people and hipster cunts, and how
one day, on the day of retribution, he will kill them all,
and then himself, because the world is so unfair.

I suggest you skip to the last part.

The biggest hipster on this board, as you see the word, an
angry little fuck with no comebacks who seems to hate people
getting on, who is an elitist regarding music and who looks
down on everyone is yourself. The guy who thinks he's cooler
than the rest, but that no one gets it.

I still don't know wether I feel sorry for you or if I want
to kick you down the street.

All you ever tell me is that I'm a hipster and that I want
to be cool and seek people's approval. It's getting really
old.

Try responding with a bit of clout and intellect this time,
I fucking dare you!

You are oblivious to the fact that you are a new school
hipster because your personality embodies it and your brain
has half baked concepts of what constitutes subcultures.

I currently only listen to music either while in the car or
at work. Both have high levels of background noise, and both
using less than ideal speakers. My need for lossless digital
or analog audio is moot. I try to stick with CDs (music
obtained before 2006) or 320s (after 2006), but there is no
corner at my house or life for a hifi system and record
player to allow for proper appreciation of quality.

i'd someday wish for a pair of genelecs and a finely tuned
listening space, but thats very low on my priorities.

if you have a fairly modern car, the car stereo is usually
fantastic for listening, imo -- especially loud -- even
though it's no good for tweaking the EQs. still, point
taken, that's like... 192 or above, you're good. but if you
work in a slightly quiet environment, then lossless starts
to make a comeback

my phone has a thing where i can have separate EQ settings
that kick in depending on where i am, and i wish it went
further. like "i'm at home, the music library is over the
LAN" vs. "the LAN is offline and the GPS says i'm elsewhere,
so resort to what i have saved on the phone instead."
