I'm trying to use my KS4 to program some drum patterns in Logic, the problem is that when I have 2 or more events in the same position on the grid only 1 sound plays, the others are silent, like it's monophonic. I'm using 4 parts on the synth on different channels, so i have some ambient pads and bass playing fine as polyphonic, it's just the drums, i just can't see why, any ideas?

drums use "noise" which is all the frequencies at once so its like 128 polyphonic voices all going so maybe ur overloading ur synth

solution is obv. that wavephace needs to stop being a fucking psychic fatass; slim out, the pressure will relieve, and your polyphony will fill out like the inverse of jnasato's earfox.

Is the midi-channel for the drums set to 10? That might be the issue - a lot of synth (most actually) only play drum-sounds through channel 10.

Is it something to do with each drum sound on the KS4 being a separate part? Each part has its own MIDI channel on the KS4 I think.

There are 4 parts (sound engines) in performance mode and it seems to only allow midi channels 1 to 4

I have no idea what my earfox is, but um... perhaps that could be something?
But this is like the shittiest advice I could give: I imagine you already know of selecting MIDI outs on synths and choosing same MIDI ins in Logic, so..... The "monophonic sounds" issue-- the drum samples from hardware aren't necessarily going to trigger the same notes in Logic-- sometimes hardware will jump around on the "piano roll" even when triggering the next note. So perhaps the note is being recorded, but it's somewhere waaay up or down in Logic-- somewhere where there is no sample to be triggered by the drum plugin. The way to test this would be to hit the keys on your synth to make sure you're getting a sample played back in Logic. If this is the case and it's too much of a pain to move notes after the fact, it is possible to select which notes go to which notes in Logic's routing, but it's the deep routing that's been hidden from like 8 years ago.

If the monophonic thing is happening from playback within Logic after the MIDI notes have been recorded, then the problem is within Logic. Possibly fudged the output settings when setting MIDI ins.

If I hit the keys on the synth at the same time it works , so it seems to be an issue with logic or the midi interface
