I think there's something strong in the simplicity of the first 8 seconds. The subtle acid line and that subtle reverse sounding bit is pretty good in the beginning. For me, it seems to get lost in the later combination of acid squelch + reverb, the acid leslie or whatever panning effect, the adding complexity of the closed hi-hat and addition of open hh, and the sharpness of the hh (and addition of chamber depression vibes). I even feel maybe the first bar of the beatz looped over the intro 8 seconds of acid is good. Cuz the *dun dun du cha (cha)* of the 2nd part of the initial beat is maybe claiming too much completion and showcasing a presentation that doesn't close a theme or smoothly transition to itself. But the simplicity in the beginning is pretty complex and could be something to work from by itself. |
