Are you liking this release? I think it's pretty pedestrian
apart from a couple of stand outs (I like Acage a lot,
sounds like a Kerrier district track). Maybe I should give
up on Acid musics, I find it too difficult to listen to most
of the time. Do you like the 303?

I like it but yeah it does seem a bit acid by numbers, his
ace of clubs stuff is much better for this style. To be fair
I haven't listened to it enough I will probably really dig
it this time next year.

I haven't listened to it at all. How much is a digi
download. I'd buy it. But yea acid... is still great. As
much as vibert is amazing at what he does, he doesn't seem
to break the mould he's created for himself. I'd like to
hear some less structured acid. Call it acid acid?

That song he did on trouble in paradise was neat. But also
showed the limitations of loop based expressiveness perhaps?

speaking as a fan of vibert in his many guises, I'm sad to
say that this release couldn't really grab my attention
(though I agree that Acage is nice, as are the Kerrier
District releases).

On the plus side, apparently a wagon christ release is in
the works !!! I'll go put on shadows now ...

Hyperflake: Benefist is one of fav+ acid albums of forever,
acid by numbers is spot on for this though.

Sneakattack: Really? Good, it's far more expressive (though
silly) than his Vibert stuff. I'll stick Shadows on too.

retape: yeah, vortek is pretty cool, reminds one of some
older vibert sounds (e.g., YosepH)

I'll go put ridmik on again, thanks to you guys =)

Indeksical: yeah I like his funkier stuff the most, things
like kerrier district and wagon christ (absolutely adore
most wagon christ releases, especially the early ones).
You've probably heard them, but if not, vibert's "nuggets"
releases give a pretty nice window into the kinds of sounds
he likes; they were very nice for me to hear, especially
since it's not the kind of music I'll pick up on my own.

yes the nuggets collections are very playful, great
inspiration (lots of library music), i have to say for
someone who has released so much stuff he is remarkably
consistent, i haven't really heard anything he has done that
I have outright disliked.
