Anyone want a copy? It's 128 kbps but it sounds way better
a quality than cat 23. Fuck another kick starter or band
camp sale of this. It will probably sound worse than my 128
copy

I'll post a link if there is interest

for a sale, i'm afraid i'll need something with a little
more electro-acoustic pretension.

for example: take AB5 to your vacation home on the lake.
blast it real loud across the lake to a waiting microphone
on the opposite side, and encode at 96kbps joint stereo.
even better wound be sony atrac3; that shit has some lush
aliasing. however, if you want the real aphex money, i'm
afraid i'm going to need more. perhaps some microphones duct
taped to disco balls, a concert performance reviewed
sarcastically by fact magazine, or a masochistic group of
classical twats rendering themselves the plaything of a
spoiled millionaire with a midi controller. i would pay up
to $5 for that.

i sort of like the idea of having a competition to see who
can dig out the oldest, worst aphex trax. greasiest 48kbps
.WMA moster with an expiration date south of the 00's planck
time off a CDR that's flaking blue tin foil but still reads
alright

also, i am still waiting for payment for my album
"Sampled Library" since all musicians are entitled to dollars

it's strange that my last album is better than aphex twin's
last album. how far he has fallen.... but he still makes
dozens of thousands of dollars without doing jack shit, and
meanwhile i've lost my job. i'm sure i'll find another, but
watching recent events while i'm in between has been more

This is actually onto something...

From a personal- I am Ultra and Lazer- point of view, this
track actually has a lot of next level shiz going on. I did
listen to all of it several times (just rewinding, etc...).
Cuz what caught my attention was the "okay" intro, like
"wha...?". Then the stabs come in at :45, and it hit me
like oh FUK.

One strength of the intro and related parts is the high
dynamic range; having extreme variance in volume of
elements. But around 1:45, this is lost in mud. Then gets
fine. Then 3:20 gets at the edge of having dynamic range,
but still stabs nicely. Then, mud again. Then nice.
Pretty cool shit with reverb in mid area, and nice mains hum
or TV buzz in later bitz. Nice vocals.

The stabs and dew dew dewz are the strongest non-beatz
narrative elements, and when it goes to "mud" (the hard buzz
drone), beatz+melodic strength is lost in this.

I know it sounds like shit to crit, and even more shit to
give a specific tip-- but if the hard buzz cut in and out as
the stabs and vocals come in from the ether, this could be
really solid.

Sorry, sorry..... Sounds like shit, I know. No offense
intended! Just my random ass opinion.

Whatever the case, don't feel bad or de-motivated from
non-recognition of your sonics. I've listened to a lot of
your output on SC, and you definitely get onto some next
level music at times. I don't know what you want people to
think of your music, but positive stuffs-- onto some next
level shiz is what I got.

But overall-....... A rhetorical question: How can your
music be 100% (I'm talkin' true sincere raw muthafuckin'
LAZER), when your website has undercurrents of
self-demeaning vibez? On the one hand it's obvious you
really care about it all-- on the other hand, you pretend
that you don't. I hope you find the strength to spread your
truth, and not perpetuate your lies.

Godspeed.

for the last few years everything i've done has been
live mixed, and as such, it's hard to fix those sort of
mistakes after the fact. that track had all sorts of
bullshit going on like feedback from a few room mics, and as
such, the harmonics were slightly beyond my control at
times. i think the space paranoids II track i posted should
meet your criteria for less mud.

it's all moot, anyways. in january i decided to take a break
from music because i was broke and wanted to focus on work.
then in april i lost my job anyways. i've put it off as long
as i can, but now i'm selling off my synths.

what i wanted was to be able to wake up every day and make
things i imagine in my head into real reality things.
sometimes music, sometimes code, sometimes writing.
unfortunately, that would seem to be too much to ask of the
world. there is an office cubicle with my name on it for me
to slowly die in. i don't have it in me to quit music, but i
think i am giving up posting it on the internet, along with
most of anything else i make.

Ocean Breeze is hot dude. The fuck.

Don't stop sharing, cuz it's good when sincere and positive.
Like Reading Rainbow.

I've been fortunate to have several months/YEARS straight of
"free time", and the idea of "I'd get so much done with
total freedom" turned out to be an illusion for me.

Riding the lazer edge of your mind and making mad
revelations of self from your creative works, things tend to
get out of hand. The highest forms of personal expression
tend to create new forms of perception, so one ends up
loop'd. In that sense, your "non-perfected" works are
ideal, because you just do, then finish.

I know people working FT, who make the time to complete
unrelated great visual/music works. Bit by bit; CONSTANTLY.
It seems if one's great works cannot be finished in "busy"
times, they cannot be finished in "free" times. Cuz what is
missing is not "time"-- the missing element is setting
LIMITS and making time to create.

MAKING TIME, like to where if you didn't press a button at
certain intervals during the day, you'd get kicked in the
dick.

Finishing works is not asking too much of the world, but
thinking you NEED TO FINISH IT ALL is asking too much of
yourself (ironically resulting in working on little). Doing
JUST ONE THING seems counterproductive for those who are
multi-talented, but that kind of focus is what completes
projects. I have many talented friends-- some are poor and
doing fuck all and depressed, the others are successful.
Learning from both sides and myself is where this babble
comes from.

One thing, focus, NEXT. Somehow all of a sudden, fucking
everything gets done.

I wish this on all!!!: That you make time, to make works.
Cash from Burger King or crack-- irrelevant. A job makes
apparent the extreme value of remaining time, cuz THAT IS
ALL YOU HAVE.

Hedonistic doodling has created innumerable massive talents,
but it's only those who can go against the *fun* to work
with discipline and unpleasant shit, who have anything to
show for it.

dude. i've done my best for the last decade or so. i've
worked minimal jobs so i had the most time for all this
stuff. if i had the time and cash to continue, i would
continue to get better. but i don't. i need large blocks of
time to make a reasonable effort -- i couldn't do ocean
breeze now. when i did that, i was going hours a day, every
day. i could get back there, but not with the time and money
i have. this means anything i do from now on will be of
lesser quality than what i've already done. so why not just
play xbox? ditto for making videos and all the other shit
i've piddled away my savings on, only to get trolls and
complaints about how i fumbled a fader working six synths at
once. more than a bit irritated now mang

Some people are just way better than others at certain
things, everyone has their strenghts, and its up to you as
an individual to realize what you're good at and stick to
it. For example aphex twin barely tries and writes 4 tracks
a day that people would pay 40k for some 20 year old tracks,
when he probably made them in one go without even trying. So
obviously he has found what he is good at. Maybe wjat you're
good at is posting on forums instead.

hathathat i think u should just accept my philosophy theres
no such thing as good music. cuz 1ce u belive that u can let
go of all ur deluded ideas about music such as what u just
said above that if u work longer/harder on a track it will
be better!! cuz when better doesnt exist that statement
makes NO sense and u can just free ur mind. the difference
between "good" and "bad" art and "art" and "entertainment"
is just a invention from the ppl in power to continue
opressing ppl

i bet this means more to chris westphallus than the birth of
his child. that's some sort of accomplishment, i suppose. if
i didn't have talent for music i wouldn't have done it. i'd
just troll people and try to leech off of 80s musicians like
everyone else

Well in spite of what I said about everyone having their own
strengths, everyone also deals with their own
demons/difficulties and I'm sure even aphex twin has his own
personal battles. But what is your objectove at the end of
the day? For me, its djing, coke, whores and touring the
world. For others, simply making music for themselves that
they can enjoy suffices. So a lot of it is in your
perspective and what you feel entitled to. There's always
going to be another skrillex out there who has mad
connections through country music and is able to game the
system and shoot up to the tops of the charts and get
incredible exposure, so if you're in it for fame, its a
losing battle.

i stated quite clearly what i want:

"what i wanted was to be able to wake up every day and make
things i imagine in my head into real reality things.
sometimes music, sometimes code, sometimes writing."

as i also said, "unfortunately, that would seem to be too
much to ask of the world."

i do lots of things other than music, i figured there would
perhaps be enough value in some bit of it somewhere to let
me scrape by, but i guess not. i will definitely mess about
with music forever, but if it's just a laugh of a modular
wank i'm not going to subject that little bit of escape to
the internet's assholeness.
