I was thinking about this the other day, actually. If they woke up tomorrow with all of their demands suddenly met, would feminists really be happy? As much as they decry their status as "the victims", I think perhaps subconsciously they enjoy their political/social power struggle. It gives these combative types a sense of purpose to their existence, maybe. Some feminists no doubt have been abused or harmed physically and emotionally, perhaps as children, and their fight for progress may be the only catharsis they'll ever have. A victory tomorrow would perhaps be nothing more than a hollow bandage to an injury which has no cure, leaving them empty. |
