I wanted to do this recording justice, and so I have made
every effort to do it in the style of my hero, The DJ AFX
Twin. I also wanted to do better than JivverDicker and
impress DJ Hardcode besides.

Considering the challenge, I realized I needed a hardware
edge. Tape Op says "Valves" are IDM, so I grabbed my
PreSonus BlueTube off the shelf. It had lots of dust on
it... but that's cool -- I swabbed it down. Less cool was
that I was unable to find the manufacturer-supplied power
supply. While the BlueTube requested 18vAC, I found it
seemed to work alright off the 12vAC supply from a long-dead
M-Audio somethingorother I found in my bin of mateless power
bricks. Not sure what the loss of that 6vAC does to the
sound... But, yeah -- "valves," check.

I considered listening to it before doing anything, but then
I realized you cannot plan being an IDM God. So, I just
went. I pressed play and fiddled with valves. Sometimes I
turned EQ knobs; sometimes I dropped in judicious blasts of
aux fx like a dub master. I also some volume flubs for
myself to clumsily correct later (visually, from the
waveform thumbnail, no listening allowed!!), in order to
make sure everyone knows that this is a motherfucking
official aphex live fan record dub master thing. Since I
like DJ hardcode, I gave him numerous shout-outs with my
Electrix Warp Factory. It is a machine designed to do DJ
audio watermarks (Does anyone want to buy it? I am broke and
quitting music. $376+ship obo). Finally, In order to stay
true to the AFX Acid ethos, I also did the following as it
dubbed:

1. Got a cup of coffee
2. Took a shit
3. Surfed the internet
4. Wrote this post
5. Cleaned my drugs paraphenalia
6. Had a wank to the giant oil painting of Aphex on my wall
7. Shaved my ponytail

Aphex Twin, you have taught me well. Goodbye XLT

The pseudo stereo phase vst you used to make it sound more
'stereo' is weak. I could lecture you on your mistakes but
I don't think you'd take them on-board.

In reality, you have uploaded a flac with a stereo phase
effect on my effort.

I don't enjoy this but be honest next time.

well, i used a compressor vst as well on the final
recording. that's all other than what i said. remember when
you didn't believe me about the tape recorder and i put up a
picture of it next to my bomb-ass type rm503 and you still
didn't fucking believe me? go google my shit and find the
pics of the presonus bluetube; i'm not doing another picture
for your ungrateful arse

and yes, everything was live and unedited (except for the
blind volume envelopes as described). just the fucking aux
sends with my mixer's builtin dsp crap and an electricx warp
factory (for sale!!) and my stupid ass drinking coffee and
giggling at what horrid shite this whole set is and having
fun making it less shit. FOR YOU. but i get no respekqt

p.s. i used freqy's flac as a source, not the m4a you
uploaded. i thought you just did some harsh hi-end vocal
cut?

"and my stupid ass drinking coffee and

its funny how you have confused the set and the recording of
the set in order to delude yourself your better than RDJ.

i said the set was shit, i didn't say i was better than rdj.
he could do a killer set if he did more than toss it
together on the taxi ride over.

or maybe it was good, and i just missed it in all the sound
of punters going "do you feel that pill yet?" "no" "well
it's been a half hour"

i guess you guys are just so up rdj's arse that you love the
shit out of a recording so noisy you can barely tell when he
bitcrushes his way into another track from 2003

want. i refuse to do so any longer.

anyone remember the snowbombing set? 'twas the first time i
heard synthacon 9. i had a feeling it was a new track since
the recording cheekily lost the left channel for just that
one track.

that was a good set. this is not.

You said you made it less shit, so you are claiming your
better, also you would have a hard job getting a taxi to
Glastonbury festival!

Why are you constantly slagging off Aphex but yet you are
always posting in threads about him, I know a good online
psychologist if yo need one.

There are many artists I don't like, I cant imagine why I'd
want to post in threads about them, does it make you feel
more powerful or something?
Reminds me of mates who say gorgeous models are ugly, when
you know if said model was to approach them they would be
literally drooling..and their voice would not work when they
tried to say something.

of course it's going to be a shit set, everyone knows that
aphex twin always takes the piss when he has to play huse
mainstream, sold out venues to throngs of hipsters. look at
what he did at coachella, a bunch of fucking public enema
and some DnB by Dylan.

Whats your music like, do you think it's better than
Dylan,Facs and Public Enemy put together or just better than
anyone of those, please share if it is?

That Dylan link is a poor choice imo,
Try these, this one's ace bowel destroying sub bass on a big

Makes me realize xlt could use another "good drum n bass",
for old school shit. I can't believe how bad new drum n
bass is..... Or is it really not bad? Some forward
thinking dnb around, but there's for some reason a lot of
bad dnb using that same fucking snare sound +
over-compression. Fucking travesty of genre.

i'm pretty sure kenny g has been using the same Fairlight
CMI patch since the 80s, but i don't have any hard evidence
to support this claim

This made me imagine Kenny G rocking hard on whatever sax of
the week- on from wherever coke of the week- to some
breakdance track he wrote that constantly uses orch5.

I guess Afrika Bambaataa + Kenny G + coke = some sort of
legitimate hardcore shit.

In the UK Cell phone/ring tones outsold 'singles sales.

At the moment, some major record companies are encouraging
people to compose ring tones as opposed to 60 minute
albums.

Is this good if you have to use a GM pallete to force
creativity or....do you need to wait for sample based
tunes..... or would you prefer to download an
idea..........or would you prefer to buy a track?
