I thought I'd hate this from the general production/eq
aesthetic, but this is pretty good. It's like....
club/post-us-dubstep/trap....

Yah, if it weren't for the hard ass compression, I would
like this even more.

Nooot bad at all. wtf.

(got that nice "Billie Jean" groove)

p.s. Considering their other tracks are mostly shit, how
did you even hear about this?

i've been following shock one since i heard polygon
in 2010 or 11. i like how the pre-drop atmosphere of polygon
(a bit past a minute in) makes it feel like your hair's
standing up, as happens when you hang on to a van der graaf
generator, or are about to be struck by lightning. it fits
the name "shock one" perfectly. tuned back in just now to
see he ol' Shock finally got his full album out, which i'd
been waiting for (on the strength of his EPs) since 2012 or
so.

i vaguely remember linking polygon here and saying it was a
nice pyramid track, but i only got one reply saying it was
crap. you'd think i quit listening to music based on some of
the bile i spew on here, but truth is, it's more that i
listen to all sorts of stuff that i know xlt would hate. so
i just keep my ~trap~ shut and come back here to complain
whenever aphex twin acts like a piece of shit.

honestly been playing the living piss out of the shock one
album in the last few weeks. that and a few of the older
john b albums are fantastic for my exercise routine.

i have also been playing the living piss out of better
living through chemistry. not only does it also work for
exercise, it's good for floating around the neighborhood in
my whip besides.

"taking control" popped into my head a few days ago, but i
elected to put on add n to (x)'s phenomenal "avant hard"
because rdj is a pooface.

'On the floor at the boutique' is a superb mix album! Not
feeling his recent sets though, they're lacking originality.

Jah, mang.

It's just a different time now, isn't it... I've heard
several of his sets from recent years, but the lack of "phat
style" and breaks makes the modern sets feel almost like any
other house-ish/club DJ. He still has taste, but I do
prefer his old school phat+breaks style, with mashup shit.
He was just so ON for a few years.
