xlt staff determined a emergency assembly area is needed in case xlt goes down at any time. if xlt goes down we go 2 the emergency aseembly area til xlt v3 can rise from the pheonix. this thread is for deciding on that and once it is decided me or another staff member will make the anouncement about where it is. my 1st thought was to say but im banned from there so its off limits. watmm is also no good cuz u have 2 pay joyrex money. i propose my own forum website . theres no registration so any1 can post. what are ur thoughts about what the emergency assembly area should be?? |

riced out yugo is not idm, it is riced out yugo. i get where you're going, though: a suggest-o-matic like netflix or pandora would be all: "do you like idm? then you also might like riced out yugo." at the same time, though, it's not actually idm, just riced out yugo. posters on the forums are held to certain aesthetic standards, and i've had to ban a few chaps for being too idm -- you, and the watmm2 guy. however, harmony has now been restored to the wat grid, and everyone can go back to ignoring riced out yugo once phobiazero renews the domain on may 14th. |

If the worst comes to pass then we need to be ready to put together a bespoke messageboard that will preserve the things that made XLT good and reflect the unique aesthetic whilst also taking advantage of advances in web development. i'm figuring i'll give xltscrape-update.pl a run tonight and let it download the posts i haven't already gotten, just in case xlt's hosting expires at the end of the month, then again on the 14th. i still need to toss together another perl script to suck down all the user profile info. i'd not bothered with that before since it requires login call it more of that idm, stamp-collecting mentality. the idea of xlt's data disappearing actually bothers me more than the idea of xlt disappearing. |

theres pros and cons of preserving this sites posts for xlt v3 (codename pheonix). on 1 hand a forest fire is needed sometimes in the natural life cycle of a forest. on the other hand posts here could 1 day be needed as evidence in a crime trial |

i'm thinking a new xltronic, exactly the same as the current one, except: - broken shit works again - in addition to normal free member class and paid member class, there is a "dupeshit" class. any dupes get demoted to dupeshit status. dupeshit status means: A) your posts are hidden by default unless someone clicks the spoiler tag, OR logs in and has it set to show them by default, and B) dupeshits cannot bump threads. it just stays buried. that is all |

I have started to put together the bare bones of a messageboard that uses Ajax to keep it updated in near to real time, so it's more "conversational", I guess. Just a project for myself as I am between contracts really, not suggesting an alternative to XLT and this will always be our Zion. Allllwwwwaaayyyyysssss. |
