ive been getting loads of e mails about heartbleed and if xlt is protected from the "heartbleed" bug. heres all u need 2 know about xlt and the heartbleed bug is xlt affected by the heartbleed bug? the good news is NO xlt is not affected by the heart bleed bug. this is cuz xlt doesnt use secure ssl connection at all. thats not unusual on web forums like this but the bad news means ur login data is not encrypted when u sent it. thankfully ur xlt account isnt on a hackers top priority list but that doesn't mean u shouldnt take steps 2 protect urself. the #1 step u can is is MAKE SURE UR PASSWORD ON XLT ISNT THE SAME AS UR EMAIL to sign up. if they are the same change both right away #2 step is be careful when u sign in on xlt on a wireless connection or thru a proxy it cant be trusted. evil hackers could steal ur xlt account and post stuff that give a poor reflection on u! if i get anymore news about heartbleed and xlt ill post it here.. surf safe everybody the moderation team |

i remember scanning xlt out of idle curiosity over this a few weeks ago. in addition to discovering that the board proper does not support SSL, i discovered port 8080 has some admin login that does support SSL. i did not bother attempting to login. |

on irc one admitted to being part of a ~troll circle~ and whether or not that individual is/was involved, it's worth considering that it's a small group of people working in concert to jack the joint. i mostly side with that because the level of presence reflects that. you don't have to watch very hard to see that the trolling is pretty 24/7. i would HOPE it's not one person... but, hey, some level of mental illness is clearly involved, so i suppose it is possible. |
